Day 8.....in LA....2011

Hello.....slow day for us...Shea got up and did her schoolwork.    I went on an hour and a half walk.   It is gorgeous out here....walk felt wonderful.    Did a load of laundry....started a new book sitting by the pool ~ waiting for the load to dry.    Shea has her acting class tonight at 6 pm.   She has a voiceover audition tomorrow at 12 noon.  Til tomorrow.....

Day 7....in LA....2011

Hello....The Screen Actors Guild awards were here in LA today.    Shea and I got the address and we drove as close as we could get and parked the car ~ then walked to the Shriner's auditorium.   We were in a great spot....right across the street from all arriving stars!     We saw everyone....it was very exciting!  :)
Some of the favorites we saw were....James Franco, Steve Carrel, Annette Bening, Warren Beatty, Susan Sarandon, Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban, Valerie Bertinelli, Jeff Bridges, Hilary Swank, Christian Bale and Colin Firth.   Shea has her acting class tomorrow night.  Til tomorow.....

Day 6...in LA....in 2011

Hello.    Shea and I walked from Oakwood to Paty's for brunch.   It was a gorgeous day...so, it was wonderful to be outside walking!    Shea did her schoolwork when we got home.   I got to do our laundry ~ just living the dream!!   ha!    Shea is going with a friend tonight (Taylor) to hear a kid from Oakwood play in a band at Roxy's.   Taylor's mom is taking them.    We are planning on going to church in the morning....then go where the SAG awards are going to be tomorrow....and see if we can see any stars?!

Day 5....in LA....2011

Hello all....and Happy Friday!    Shea didn't have any appts. today...so she just did her schoolwork.   Good News!    They called to say the car was fixed.   It needed a new fuel pump ~ and is still under warranty ~ PTL ~ so NO charge!  :)     We are officially completely unpacked!    Jamie sent us info of a new audition Shea has next Tuesday for voiceover work.   Oh....I gave you our address a few days ago...but, I don't think I gave you our apt. number....you will need to add that!   It's F-204.    Til tomorrow.....

Day 4.....in LA.....in 2011

Shea had a great time at the acting class last night.    Spencer Knight invited Shea to go to his apartment to see his Mom and sister after the class....she walked in and there's Sterling Knight!    He is the male lead in Disney's show ~ "Sonny with a Chance".  She said she wanted to scream and run over to him...ha!   But, she knew she couldn't do that....she had to be "cool!"   ha!    Shea said he is very nice!     We did go to the meeting with ~ Ferenc Laczko ~ the voiceover agent today.   Jamie had sent him a reel of some of Shea's work.   He really likes Shea....and wants to represent her for voiceover work.   So, Shea now has three agents!  :)   He has two projects already that he wants Shea to audition for next week.  One is a pilot Disney cartoon ~ and the other is voices for a video game.   So, she is very excited!    We found out that the Greene and Associates team is moving to a new office this week...so we are going to go see Matt there next week.  Shea did her schoolwork when we got home.   We are still driving the rental...as they never called today to say Shea's car is ready.  Til tomorrow.....

Day 3.....Back in La....in 2011

Hello bloggers!    Had a great night's sleep....got up early and took Gracie on a nice long walk.   Shea got up and did her schoolwork.   We then went to her callback for Rock Barnes at 11:45 am.   She had a great time!   She would be a tennis player for this role as Wendy.   Then we went to pick up her new headshots.
Grabbed lunch at Carnie's.   We were driving home and the car just D I E D on Sunset Blvd.   Ugh!   We AGAIN called AAA for the second day in a row!   Good Times!    We waited in the middle of the road for about 45 minutes....while all the California drivers drove by being soooo nice!    NOT true!    Sooo mean they are!   Ok....AAA guy shows up and the car starts....I'm NOT kidding....but, Chris wanted us to still take the car back to the shop again to have it checked out.....we sat THERE for THREE hours....again NOT kidding....they took a drive in the car and it stalled out again...so, they are keeping it over night...and gave us a rental.    I grabbed the GPS....the gate passes to get into Oakwood apts....we are on our way.   Get to apt. and YUP forgot the apt. key!    Again NOT kidding!    We got new keys made for our apt...and we are HOME!   :)      Poor Gracie was here all day alone!    Just took her on a nice walk.    Shea found out that Johnny V. is teaching an acting class here tonight at 7 pm....so she is going.   Momma is resting!     Shea has appt. tomorrow with voiceover agent at 11 am....she has to do all her characters, voices and accents for him.    Then we are stopping by Greene and Associates (Shea's TV and Film Agent) to see Matt and take him some new headshots.     And HOPEFULLY picking up our car!   :)

Day 2.....in LA....in 2011

We had a nice and safe flight out to LA last night.    We got into our bed here at the Oakwood apartments around 1:30 LA time (4:40 am east coast time!)   Slept in a bit....and then went to the car to get some food.

And car won't start...!   :(     Called AAA.....the guy came....tried everything....and no go....he called a tow truck...the tow truck came and wasn't the right kind to carry a 4-wheel drive....sooooo, he called a flatbed truck....(took another hour!).....We found out last night that Shea had an audition today at 4 pm for a JC Penny commercial.   I had to go with the tow truck to the car dealership to see about the car....Shea stayed at the apt.....got ready and went to the audition in a cab.   The good news on the car.....they said the battery was too small for that size car....so they put in a new battery and we are good to go!    And NO charge ~ cuz it's under warranty!  :)    Just got back to the apartment with Shea's car.    Shea was already back and said she had fun and felt great about the audition.    So, NOW we are going grocery shopping.....then will come back and finish our unpacking....oh the F U N!    ha!      Shea has the callback tomorrow at 11:45 am for the Rock Barnes film.   Til tomorrow.....

Our return to LA ~ Jan. 24th 2011 ~ Liz and Shea

Hello family and friends....Shea and I fly out tonight to LA....we have had a wonderful 6 weeks home with Chris and Topher....and family and friends!   So the adventure continues....we will be staying at the same apartment complex ~ Oakwood in Burbank.    Rosie ~ who was watching our car and starting it up every once in awhile for us ~ says the car is running well!   :)    We get in so late tonight ~ we will wait and unload the car and get settled in the apartment tomorrow.   Jamie just let us know that Shea has a callback back from something she auditioned pretty far back for.   It's on Wed. ~ the 26th.   For the film "Rock Barnes".   They have chosen Rock Barnes (Erik Stolhanske) and have the mother ~ Elizabeth narrowed down to 2 ladies.    All the producers and director will be present.   Shea will read with both "Rock Barnes" and "Elizabeth" to see how their chemistry is together?    Then she has a meeting on Thursday ~ the 27th ~ with a voiceover agent.   Til tomorrow.....
