Day 89.....in LA.....2011

Hello my dear family and friends....I didn't write the blog on Friday to say we were flying home on Saturday.....cuz Shea was surprising friends....and I didn't want to blow it for her....sorry!     So we flew home yesterday....got home around 10:30 pm!    Yippee!!     Sooo happy to be home in the bubble(Peachtree City, Ga) !!!   Happy Easter to you all!    We went to church as a family this morning....then went to brunch at Dolce.   Toph just left to go see Libby.....Chris, Shea and I went on a golf cart ride....what a gorgeous day!    I won't be writing every single day now that we are home.....but, since Shea is getting set up with an agent now in Atlanta....I will write you all on it from time to time to update you all....as it stands right now....Shea and I will be back out in LA the month of July.   Of course, Jamie said she "might" be calling us before then....if something comes up?  :)   Til.....not sure....but, soon!

Day 88.....in LA.....2011

Hello....ok....still organizing and packing.....Rosie is going to watch our car again when we leave....Super Shuttle is booked to pick us up and take us to the airport!    Check ~ Check!   :)     Shea has an audition tomorrow for the role of "Amber" in feature film ~ "Fly Home."   Oakie, doakie....that's all for now...til tomorrow.....

Day 87.....in LA.....2011

Hello....I forgot to tell you all yesterday that I saw Jennifer Love Hewitt yesterday at the dry cleaners.    She was very sweet.    Poor thing.....as soon as she walked in.....I look out the door and there are four papparazzis (sp?) with cameras waiting for her to walk out.     Shea got the exciting news today that she did pass the CHSPE ~ which means she can work here in California as a "legal 18 yr. old."     Which helps with producers and directors wanting to use Shea.   Also, got very exciting news about Topher!!  He found out today that he has been promoted to a Department Head for a brand new "Fresh Market" store in Pawley Island, South Carolina.    After only working for them for three months!   Proud of him!   I have been getting things organized in the apartment today....and starting to pack things up!   Til tomorrow.....

Day 86.....in LA.....2011

Hello.....not much to report today...Shea did her schoolwork....I did laundry (of course!) ha! ~ and gave Gracie a bath....I did have a hair appt. this afternoon with Marcie for a color and cut.   Getting excited to be home soon.....!   Til tomorrow.....

Day 85.....in LA.....2011

Hello....it is Lindsay's birthday today.....I do feel her with me.   My mom was taking flowers to her gravesite today.   Shea had an audition today.....and she felt nervous that she would be emotional.   Told her that Linds would be with her.....and to do it for her!    We went and she did her audition and felt great about it.   From there she went to her acting class.  Til tomorrow.....

Day 84.....in LA.....2011

Hello.....well, I ended up getting what Shea had last week....ugh....so, it's NyQuil and DayQuil for Liz.   I've been laying on the couch ~ resting and sleeping all day.    Shea drove Chris to the airport.  He is already safely home in Peachtree City.    I am thankful I wasn't sick while we were up at Mammoth!    Shea has her Disney audition tomorrow afternoon.   She is really excited about it.   It's for a brand new Disney show....and Shea is auditioning for the role of the show's host!   Til tomorrow.....

Days 81, 82 and 83....in LA....2011

Hello all!   We were out of town for a few days....so didn't write the blog....will give you a quick recap.
Shea had her first audition on Thursday morning for the role of Elizabeth in the feature film ~ "Miss L."
Then she had her second one at noon for the Nickelodeon show ~ "Bucket & Skinner's Epic Adventures"
for the role of Lesley.  She had a third one for a new show for Disney in the late afternoon....but, Disney cancelled it and rescheduled Shea's audition for that on Monday ~ April 18th.  It was a real blessing ~ as it allowed us to get on the road earlier for our trip to "Mammoth Lakes and Mountains."   It was a 5 1/2 hr drive ~ but, absolutely spectacular viewing of scenery!   We had planned this quick little get-away to celebrate our anniversary...and Shea's b-day!    On Friday, Chris and Shea went skiing for the day.   These mountains are huge....and they skiied down from 11,000 feet.....they loved it!    I decided my skiing days are over....and went shopping instead.   Today, the three of us went showmobiling.....and we had a blast!
Just gorgeous country!!     We are now back in LA....and Shea has already left to celebrate her b-day with all her friends.   Til tomorrow.....

Day 80.....in LA.....2011

Hello.....Ok....picked Chris up at airport!   Yahoo!    We came and picked up Shea and went to Paty's for lunch.   Then from there went to Santa Monica for her callback for the Bright House commercial.  Then we went to AT&T to get Shea's new phone....her b-day gift!  :)    Shea has THREE auditions tomorrow!   1st, at 10:30 am for the role of Elizabeth in Miss L.    Her second one is at 12 noon for Nickelodeon for the role of Lesley in "Bucket and Skinner's Epic Adventures."   And the third one is at 4:15pm for a new Disney show....the audition is for the show host!   Shea is soooo excited about that one!   Til tomorrow.....

Day 79.....in LA.....2011

Hello....ok....lots to tell you.    First of all,  Shea is feeling a little better ~ PTL!  :)    We drove to Santa Monica this afternoon to have her new headshot pix taken for Jamie.    We will get those back in about two weeks.   Just found out that Shea has another callback for another commercial she auditioned for last week.
This one is the Bright House one ~ where Shea is a "skateboard girl."  That callback is tomorrow afternoon at 4:15 pm.   She also has another audition on Thursday at noon for the role of Lesley on "Bucket and Skinner's Epic Adventures."   She has auditioned for this casting director several times.  And guess who arrives in LA tomorrow at noon?!!   Yep ~ Chris!   :)   He is flying out to be here to celebrate our 27th anniversary on April 14th....and Shea's 17th BDay on the 15th!   He will be with us til the 17th.   So VERY excited!!   Til tomorrow.....  

Day 78.....in LA.....2011

Hello.....Shea still not feeling well....  :(     Gave her NyQuil last night....Day Quil today.   As soon as she got back to the apt. after her hair appt.....Shea got a call that she had a callback!!    :)     For the AT&T Commercial.   We had to move quickly to get to Santa Monica in time.    Shea felt great about it.   Tomorrow Shea is doing her audition on tape ~ for the role of Sadie.   After that we are going to have new pix taken.   Jamie said she needed some more informal ones....maybe in a ponytail.....so that's what we're doing.    Shea found out today about an audition she has on Thursday....that she is very excited about!!    It's a new Disney show.....and the role is a Girl Host.    Til tomorrow.....  

Day 77.....in LA.....2011

Hello.....Shea had to do make-up schoolwork today.    I did laundry and gave Gracie a bath while she did that.    We just relaxed the rest of the day.   Shea kind of not feeling too great.   :(    Just feeling sluggish and a sore throat.   Ugh!   Will give her meds. before she goes to bed.   Shea has a hair appt. tomorrow afternoon.   Til tomorrow.....

Day 76.....in LA.....2011

Hello.....had a lazy day.....til it was time for Shea to get ready for her audition today.   This was an audition for the "Ajuko Girls."    Shea went to the dance studio where the choreographer and casting director were.
He taught the girls a dance.   Then they had to perform 3 at a time for the casting director.   Then they each had to sing 8 bars of a pop song.    Shea had fun....and it's great practice going to as many auditions as you can.   She felt like they were looking for younger girls.   But, she's still glad she went!  :)     After that, we went to see the movie ~ "Arthur" with Russell Brand.   It was cute.   Of course, it's predictable (member Dudley Moore's Arthur?)   But, Russell B. is absolutely hilarious!   Ok.....ta, ta for now.....til tomorrow.....

Day 75.....in LA.....2011

Wow!    75 days.....!   :)     Ok....you knew we had one audition this afternoon at 2:30 pm in Sherman Oaks.     It was for a Motorola commercial.   She was given a dialogue to learn when we got there.   Then she went in to do her reading.   She also had another audition at 3:40 pm for an AT&T commercial in Santa Monica.   That one also had a dialogue which they gave her to learn when we arrived.   Shea said she had fun at both auditions.   She has another audition tomorrow.   She has to sing and dance for this role.    We were going to go see Arthur tonight....but, decided we would go tomorrow afternoon after her audition.    Til tomorrow.....

Day 74.....in LA.....2011

Hello all.....while Shea did her schoolwork....I went and took in some dry-cleaning and then got my nails done.   I had to gas up the car ~ which at $4.07 a gallon (and that was the lowest I could find!) ~ it's over $80 bucks to fill er up!   :(     Got a last minute call from Jamie that Shea had an audition this afternoon in Santa Monica.   It was for a Bright House Commercial ~ and Shea's role was being a skateboard girl.  :)  We were there by 3 pm and she said she had fun!   Jamie just sent an email a few minutes ago that Shea has another audition tomorrow afternoon in Sherman Oaks for another commercial.   This one is a Motorola one ~ and will have dialogue.  Shea's role is Sam ~ a 14/15 yr. girl.    This role of Sam ~ might be a reoccuring role in future Motorola commercials.   Til tomorrow.....

Day 73.....in LA.....2011

Hello.....Shea has an audition she has to do ~ put on tape.   It's for a film ~ "Ikiva" for the role of Sadie.   Being filmed this summer in Texas.   So Shea will download the sides and practice her lines this weekend.
We will go and have her audition taped and sent next week.    Shea and some of her friends drove over to Miley's house today....hoping they would see her.    Unforturnately, Miley is away for a few days practicing for her upcoming concert tour.   Miley's mother Tish drove up....and got out of the car and talked to Shea and her friends.   Shea had her picture taken with her.    She was thrilled!   Til tomorrow.....

Day 72.....in LA.....2011

Hello friends and family.....had a nice meeting today with Jamie (Shea's manager) and her assistant Liz.
Jamie is setting up meetings now with several agents in Atlanta.   We will meet with them when we get home and decide which one is the best fit (agent) for Shea.   Jamie told us that they will tape Shea from now on at the agent's office ~ for any auditions on tape that Jamie requests.   Which is wonderful!  :)  She is still working on getting auditions for Shea.   After our meeting, we went shopping for Shea's Prom dress.
First store we went in...and second dress she tried on....that was it!    It's beautiful on her....fits her perfectly.
Just needs to be hemmed a little.   Yahoo ~ that's done!   Til tomorrow.....

Day 71.....in LA.....2011

Howdy!    It was back to school for Shea today....then the gym to workout....and to the pool from there.
Gorgeous day here!   I went on a long walk....and yep, did laundry!  ha!   Shea is at her acting class right now.    We are meeting up with Jamie tomorrow in Santa Clarita.   I had written her a note with a bunch of questions.   And she said she wanted to see us and would answer them then.     So, I will give you a report tomorrow on that meeting.    I "think" we are going Prom dress shopping after getting with Jamie.    We will see....I'll let you know about that too!  :)    Til tomorrow.....

Hello....Happy Sunday!     Well, needed to get groceries today.....Shea worked out and went swimming.  It's back to schoolwork for Shea tomorrow.     20 days til we are home.....10 days til Chris is here again!

Day 69.....in LA.....2011

Hello.....we got a call from Jamie....and just wanted to share with you all.....She is working on getting Shea into audition for a soap and a new Disney show now.   Jamie has an agent in Atlanta she wants to work with Shea.   We will meet with them as soon as we get home to hopefully get things going for Shea there.
We fly home on April 23rd.   Jamie does want Shea to come back out for the month of July ~ which is "episodic" season.   This is when they audition for all the guest appearances for the tv shows.    She really wants Shea to book several of these to build up her resume.   We plan to drive back home the end of July.  So, that's the news for now.....til tomorrow.....

Day 66, 67 and 68.....in LA.....2011

Hello.....didn't write the blog while we were in Las Vegas this past Wed, Thursday and today.    We are back in LA now.   We stayed with Chris at the Cosmopolitan.   It's brand new ~ opened in mid-December.
Beautiful place.    Chris had to work during the day.   Shea and I went to the pool.   Then we met up with Chris at night for dinner and fun.   We had a great time!   Chris is already home in Peachtree City.   Shea is already out with friends.  And I'm here hanging with my Gracie!   Have a Happy Friday Evening!   Til tomorrow.....
