Day 44 in LA.....February 2012

Hello.....well, the day started out a little rough....no hot water in our building...so NO shower.
I called and they sent someone over to fix....alas....and a nice hot shower! :) Shea had to double up on her schoolwork today ~ because she couldn't do any yesterday. I ran errands. Jamie called to tell us that Shea did BOOK the MSN Commercial! PTL! She has wardrobe tomorrow afternoon in Santa Monica. We aren't sure of the shoot times for Friday yet. Shea is excited! Sharon has invited us over tomorrow night for dinner ~ and to watch our Dr. Phil episode. Til tomorrow.....

Day 43 in LA.....February 2012

Howdy! Shea went to her 1st audition this morning for the guest role on the show "Awkward." Then from there we went to her Callback for the MSN commercial. We drove to Santa Monica for her 2nd audition ~ this one for a lead role in a new pilot. She felt great about all of them! We did NOT want to get on the 405 at 4 pm ~ T E R R I B L E, CRAZY traffic! Soooo, we went to the Promenade Shopping Area in Santa Monica. We both needed some make-up items ~ so we hit Sephora!
Then grabbed some dinner....and headed home. Jamie just called and Shea is "On Avail" for the MSN Commercial. Yahoo! Shea will be doubling up on her schoolwork tomorrow since she couldn't do any today. Til tomorrow.....

Day 42 in LA.....February 2012

Hi! Ok ~ first of all I told you the episode we attended of Dr. Phil ~ is on this Thursday ~ Feb. 1st....all of that is correct ~ except Ha! ~ It's March 1st! The show is about Toni Braxton and her mother and sisters and getting along. Shea has a busy day for tomorrow....an audition for a guest starring role on a show....and CALLBACK for the MSN Commercial! Then another audition later in the day for a lead role in a new pilot. She is psyched! Shea's friend Sloane is appearing as a guest star on Body of Proof Tuesday night at 10 pm. Til tomorrow.....

Day 41 in LA.....February 2012

Beautiful day here in LA.....Gracie got a bath....invited Sharon and Harrison and Hanna over to watch the Oscars with us. We each made some appetizers....and sat and watched the red carpet and the awards show. I found out that the episode I went to see Dr. Phil will be aired this Thursday February 1st. Sharon and I sat right up front. Til tomorrow.....

Day 39 and 40 in LA.....February 2012

Hello....busy with Chris here...so writing yesterday's and today's blog....Friday ~ Chris and I drove down to Marina Del Ray while Shea did her schoolwork. He was in heaven being on the water and seeing ALL the boats! Then we drove to Venice Beach...and walked the boardwalk and saw all the "sights!" Shea got an audition that afternoon for a commercial....so, we drove back to LA...picked up Shea and drove to the audition. Saturday ~ I drove Chris to the Bob Hope airport this morning....always hate to see him leave....but, we had a wonderful few days together! My elderly friend, Margot who lives just down the hall from us in our building ~ stopped by Thursday night saying she needed more groceries. So, I stopped by her apartment and got her grocery list today and went and did the shopping for us both. Karen Valby, a writer for Entertainment Weekly, is doing a story on aspiring actors here at Oakwood and asked Shea if she could interview her for an article. So, Shea and Harrison both met with her for two hours today. Karen is not even sure the article will go to print? If it does, they will be back out to take photos of them. I will let you all know ~ if and when it comes out. Shea and Harrison just left all dressed up to attend a Pre-Oscars party/Red Carpet event. Harrison's mom is working the event and is getting them access. So amazing! So, it's Gracie and me hanging out together this Saturday evening. Shea and I have given up meat for Lent....so, not sure what dinner might be? Oscars tomorrow.....

Day 38 in LA.....February 2012

Howdy! Great news today is I picked Chris up at the airport around 1:30 this afternoon. Poor guy is not feeling well....bad cold....so we are just hanging out at the apartment relaxing...but, still wonderful having him here! Shea got an audition today for next week for a guest role on a show. I think Chris and I are going to drive down to Marina Del Ray for the day tomorrow...while Shea does her schoolwork....til tomorrow.....

Day 37 in LA.....February 2012

Hi! I went and sat by the pool to read my book today....while Shea was doing school...and the laundry was going. And Sophie Grace and Rosie ~ the two absolutely adorable little British girls that are on Ellen all the time ~ were playing and swimming in the pool. I have to say they were just as animated without any camera filming them. Shea came down and had her picture taken with them. I thoroughly enjoyed sitting there watching and listening to them. Just precious! Shea had an audition for "Penoza" ~ a pilot ~ for the role of Natalie this evening in Santa Monica. She felt great about it. But, oh my....the t r a f f i c was TERRIBLE on way home! Ugh! Took forever! But, we are back now enjoying all the super Wednesday night shows! And BESTEST of all ~ Chris will be here tomorrow around 1 pm ~ Yahoo! Til tomorrow.....

Hi! Really enjoyed my time at Bible Study this morning. Shea did her schoolwork....then got ready for her Producers Session this afternoon. This was for the "Malibu Country" Pilot for the role of Sarah. She felt great about it. She has an audition tomorrow for the role of Natalie in "Penoza" ~ The Life. Chris will be here in two days! Til tomorrow.....

Day 35 in LA.....February 2012

Hello.....Shea didn't finish up with her GIA shoot until midnight last night. So we were really tired today. Shea had the audition for the "Malibu Country" pilot this afternoon. Things went wonderfully....in fact, they have asked her to return tomorrow at 3pm to meet with all the Producers. PTL! After the audition we stopped at a shopping center. While we were eating at City Wok who walks right by us? Tish and MILEY Cyrus! It's so funny to see Shea after she has seen her! ha! I have Bible Study in the morning. Til tomorrow.....

Day 34 in LA.....February 2012

Hi! The shoot for Shea in the GIA series began in Morina Del Ray today. We had never been there before. They filmed near a harbor. Absolutely gorgeous area! Beautiful boats....even saw sea lions....so cool! For her role today...Shea played a homeless person hanging out in the harbor area ~ doing her spy work. She even had a stunt coordinator there to help her with the stunts she had to do. She absolutely loved that! They are filming some other scenes in a home this evening. I drove Shea down this morning....stayed and took photos of Shea on the set. Then drove home early afternoon. Shea just texted me and said I should be there around 10 pm to pick her up in Santa Monica. Shea has an audition tomorrow afternoon for a lead role in a new Pilot starring Reba McIntyre ~ "Malibu Country." Til tomorrow.....

Day 32 and 33 in LA.....February 2012

Hello.....writing for two days again....Day 32 ~ Friday.....Shea had a rehearsal for the GIA shoot in Santa Monica Friday morning. I had absolutely NUTTIN' to wear to the awards show Fri. evening....so, I was running around the Burbank Mall like a mad woman...running in all the stores to find a dress and shoes. Three hours later....done! Rushed home to get ready and then left for the awards show. It was held at the Shrine Auditorium. The show was wonderful...and we saw so many stars...have to name a few...Louis Gossett Jr.,Cicely Tyson, Cuba Gooding Jr., Diahann Carroll, George Lucas, Sidney Poitier, Harry Belafonte, Jennifer Hudson, Laurence Fishburne, LLCoolJ....and many more....Day 33 ~ Saturday.....Shea had her shoot for GIA today in Santa Monica. Another 12 hour day...she was filmed in a van in a garage all day...so, I didn't go ~ since I wouldn't have been able to watch her. I had loads of fun cleaning the apartment and doing laundry ~ lucky Mom! :) The shoot tomorrow is going to be outside at a harbor area in Santa Monica. Shea will be doing stunts ~ so she has a stunt coordinator to work with. She is sooo excited about doing the stunts! I'm looking forward to watching her on set again tomorrow.....

Day 31 in LA.....February 2012

Howdy! Shea did her schoolwork while I ran some errands. She ended up with three auditions for this afternoon....the first was for a Verizon commercial....next was a voiceover for an animation series....and lastly read for a lead part in a feature film. She has her rehearsal tomorrow for the G.I.A. shooting for this upcoming weekend. My friend, Sharon works different awards shows here in LA. She escorts the talent on red carpet....gets them anything they need..
helps them to their seats...etc. Anyway, she was given four tickets and has invited Shea and I to go with Harrison and Hanna. It's the NAACP Awards Show. I'm excited! Til tomorrow.....

Day 30 in LA.....February 2012

Hello....well, today was "Beauty Parlor Day." I went in to see Marcie for a color and Brazilian Blow-Out....Shea went in after me for a Color and Cut. Shea did get three new auditions this evening. Two are for tomorrow. The first one is for a voiceover role in an animation show. The second one if for a lead role in a movie ~ "Resident Advisor" ~ Role: Hanna. Shea will be reading for the casting directors as well as the Director and Producers of the project. Her other audition is next week for a new Pilot ~ but, Jamie sent Shea the script ~ so she can read it and prepare. Til tomorrow.....

Day 29 in LA.....February 2012

Hope everyone had a "love-filled" day! I went on a long walk with Gracie....threw in some laundry...gave Gracie a bath...and read my book....while Shea did her schoolwork. They called to say the car was ready to be picked up. They ran all kinds of tests on the car....and finally figured out what was wrong. We got two new tires put on the front and the two back tires are still good ~ but, not brand-new. Because it is four-wheel drive car ~ and there is a difference on the tread....the car is trying to figure out whether to be in 2-wheel or 4-wheel drive. Which was causing the pulling sensation. I am so very thankful it wasn't something much worse! I'm going to drive it for several days and see how it handles. If it still continues to be an issue ~ I will be buying two new tires for the backend! I have a hair appt. tomorrow with Marcie for a Brazilian Blow-Out. Til tomorrow.....

Day 28 in LA.....February 2012

Hi! Ok ~ four weeks here in LA.....Shea's car is acting up....ugh! Chris bought two new tires and got an oil change for the car while he was here. But, the engine light came on and it started making this weird noise last night ~ and like a pulling sensation ~ it was strange? Anyway, Chris and I went ALL OVER the LA area today ~ trying to find a place that would take the Saab....they have gone bankrupt ~ and it's difficult to find a place that has the parts and will work on them. Alleluia, the THIRD place took us. The car is there now. They have done some preliminary tests on it....with no answers....so, they are keeping it overnight and will test it further tomorrow. So, yes, we are carless. Chris had to leave today. :( He is in Newport Beach for several days...then from there to Denver til Friday. But, he gets to come back in 10 days ~ yahoo! Happy Valentine's Day to you all! Til tomorrow.....

Day 26 & 27 in LA.....February 2012

Hello. Sorry guys - writing 2 days on one. Shea started on the set yesterday at 7:30 am. They did the shoot in a private home they rented for the filming. They shot all the bedroom scenes with the girls for all 3 episodes. Her day ended at 8:30pm. Long day - but, Shea was on cloud nine. The woman that has written the GIA series - came to the house to meet the girls. She told Shea when she wrote the role of Alex - she "saw" Shea. The writer, director and producers are all really hoping this webisode will get a lot of hits when it is aired early April. They intend to pitch it to ABC Family and the CW and see if they will pick it up as a new show. Very exciting! Today they are filming at a High School in Anaheim. Chris and I are here watching. Its the first time Chris has been able to see Shea on set. He "thought" it would be a bit boring....but, has really enjoyed watching Shea in action! It is always so amazing to me to see ALL the "behind the scenes" stuff that has to be done for every scene. Shea again began her day early on set here in Anaheim at 7:30am. Looks like it will be a 12 hour shoot today. Shea is in dressing room getting make-up and ready for her next scene. She's going to be hiding in a laundry basket! Ha! And CUT! Til tomorrow

Day 25 in LA.....February 2012

Yahoo ~ Happy Friday!     Picked Chris up at 12:30 today at the Bob Hope airport in Burbank!    Soooo happy he is here with us for the weekend!      Shea left here around 1:30 and drove down to Santa Monica to meet with the director and rest of the cast of GIA for a blocking/rehearsal.     She's on her way home now.    It will be early to bed tonight, as she has to get up at 6am tomorrow for her first day shoot.    We are taking her tomorrow morning......so, we can have the car for the day.  Shea has a 12 hr. day on set.   We will pick her up when she is done tomorrow night.   They are filming in a bedroom all day tomorrow ~ so, it is tight quarters.    Chris wants to see Shea on set....the director said Sunday would be the best day for us to come on set and watch Shea.    They will be filming at a High School.   Til tomorrow.....

Day 24 in LA.....February 2012

Howdy!     Shea drove to the director's house in Santa Monica this morning to meet with the cast of G.I.A. They just did table reads of the three scripts.   It was supposed to be an hour....but, of course it went "late."
She had an hour drive back and made it just in time to get to her audition at 3:50 for a guest role on "How to Rock Braces and Glasses."    They are doing the wardrobe meeting here at our apartment tonight.    The stylist(Stephanie) and director(Mark Rosman) are both here.   They are going thru Shea's closet to help select "Alex's"(Shea's role) daytime clothes.    They have things for her to wear as well.    Mark is getting some footage of Stephanie and Shea selecting "Alex's" clothes in our bedroom ~ to use on a "Teaser" tape of G.I.A.   They will release the teaser before the show begins to try to get people interested.   Mark is so nice.    He has lots of great ideas for this show ~ so, he's really hoping that these first three shows will be well-received ~ so, they will continue shooting.     She has a blocking/ rehearsal tomorrow.    Her call time for set on Saturday is 7:30 am.   It's a 12 hour shoot.   So, a very long day!    Shea can't wait!  :)    I can't wait for Chris to get here ~ TOMORROW.....

Day 23 in LA.....February 2012

Hello.....it looked like we would have a slow day today.....so, Shea hunkered down and doubled up on all her schoolwork.    I did all the fun stuff.....laundry, grocery shopping, vacuuming, dusting and organizing Shea's closet AGAIN!   ha!    Shea does have an audition tomorrow afternoon for a guest role on "How to Rock Braces and Glasses."    She will be meeting with the director for G.I.A. tomorrow at noon....then with wardrobe for the project at 3 pm.   And Chris will be HERE on Friday!   Yahoo!   Til tomorrow.....

Day 22 in LA.....February 2012

Shea felt great about both of her auditions today.     But, the BIG news is ~ "Pop the Champagne!" ~ Shea BOOKED the lead role of Alex for the new Webisode ~ "G.I.A." ~ "Girl's Intelligence Agency."  Such a praise!!!    The G.I.A. is a story that follows 3 teen girls who band together to form a secret high tech investigation team specializing in helping girls with romance and teen problems.     It is a Blip TV Web Series ~ which will air this spring.    Shea is thrilled to be working with the director of this project ~ Mark Rosman.    He has been a Hollywood writer and director for over 25 years ~ working in features, TV movies, and episodic television.    He directed the hit ~ "Cinderella Story" with Hilary Duff and "The Perfect Man" with Heather Locklear and Chris Noth.     He recently directed "William and Kate" for Lifetime and 2 movies for ABC Family ~ "Princess" and "Snow 2 Brainfreeze."     Shea is going to the director's house on Thursday at noon to meet with the other 2 girls and get to know them.    She then has wardrobe at 3pm that afternoon.     The rehearsal is Friday and they start shooting the series Sat. morning.   Shea is so very thankful for this opportunity ~ and thrilled out of her mind!  :)    A very exciting day indeed!    Til tomorrow.....

Hi!     Shea doubled up on her schoolwork today.    Gracie and I went on a long walk.   I did laundry and went to get some groceries.   I made an egg/sausage casserole to take to Bible Study tomorrow ~ I'm in charge of snacks.    Then Shea got two auditions for tomorrow.    One at 12:15 for a pilot ~ "Arrow" ~ role: Thea Queen.   Which is great.....except I now can't go to Bible Study.    Her second one is for an "Untitled Karyn Usher Project." ~ pilot ~ for the role: Jane Forsythe.    Shea is excited about them!    We are going to take the egg casserole over to Sharon's tomorrow night to share with them for dinner.   Til tomorrow.....

Hi......relaxing day here.....gave myself a facial.....Shea went over to Harrison's to watch the Super Bowl.....I watched it here with Gracie.    Sure am hoping we will be super busy this coming week!    Sooo excited ~ Chris will be here this Friday ~ Yippee!   Til tomorrow.....

Day 19 in LA.....February 2012

Hello!     We are on the first floor this time ~ and we have a tiny patio ~ but, my little Gracie can get through the gating.....so, I went to Lowe's and bought some chicken fencing and some plastic "thing-a-mi-jigs" to attach the fence to the gating ~  and "Ta Da!" Gracie can go out on the patio now!    Shea is with the church Youth Group ~ at some "Bouncing-Jumping" place.    Jamie told us today that the people from "The Event" formally "The" ~ where Shea first went and showcased her acting and met agents and managers in Orlando about 18 months ago ~ want her to come to their event this summer to share her story with the kids and sign autographs.   They are paying for flights and hotel.   Pretty cool, huh?!    Sharon has invited us over again for dinner tonight.....I'm taking Gracie to play with her pup, Leila....bringing salad and dessert.....Harrison will bring Shea to meet me there after they are done with the Youth Group.    Sharon and I are going to each "bling a bra" again....while we wait for the kids to arrive.....so, I'm off to bling.....til tomorrow.....

Day 18.....in LA.....February 2012

Howdy.....Shea started her day this morning with her chemistry read.    There are three girls that will make up the G.I.A. ~ Girl's Intelliegence Agency ~ their names are Piper, Jaz and Alex.   Piper has already been booked.    So the two girls they liked for Jaz and Alex (Shea) came in to read with Piper ~ to see how their chemistry was together.    They read the different scenes and then the director told them to do an improv ~ spur of the moment ~ Shea LOVES improv....so, she had a blast!    She felt great about it.    We will see?
We went right to the audition for Carrie after that ~ "The Carrie Diaries."    She read the three scenes and felt good about it.    We came back to the apartment to take Gracie out and get some lunch.   Then went to her other audition ~ for "Harry's Law" ~ role: Jessica.    It was a packed room ~ lots of girls called in for this one.    Shea had a great time reading her script for the casting director.     Shea is with friends tonight.
It's just me and Gracie here together tonite.    Jamie just called and said that they have LOTS of pilots and scripts that have come in ~ so to be ready to get busy next week ~ Yahoo!   :)    Til tomorrow.....

Day 17 in LA.....February 2012

Hello.....exciting day today!!!!     Shea has a "Chemistry Read" for the role of Alex for the show "G.I.A."    She read the script for the director and producer on Tuesday....and now they want her to come in and see how the chemistry is between the three girls they have chosen for the three roles.    Shea is VERY excited and feels very BLESSED!   PTL!   This is her first chemistry read!     She also has TWO other auditions tomorrow!     The first one is for the new show ~ "The Carrie Diaries" ~ she will be reading for the role of Carrie Bradshaw.    This show is about the gals from "Sex in the City" when they were just teenagers.   The second audition is for a guest starring role on "Harry's Law" ~ for the role of Jessica Dougherty.    So, Shea has LOTS of reading to do tonight to prepare.     Momager here is just getting the headshots ready ~ and making sure all the outfits she is wearing are clean and ready to go.  :)     Til tomorrow.....
  

Day 16 in LA.....February 2012

Hi!    Shea had an audition today for a voice-over for a cartoon.....she went in a soundbooth to record her lines and sing two songs.....had a great time!     My friend Sharon is coming over now ~ and we are going to "Bling our Bras!"   :)      She bought the rhinestones and has the tool to put them on.    Fun, huh?!   You know "Life in LA".....can't wear a normal bra.....it's got to be BLINGED!   ha!  Til tomorrow.....
