Day 76 in LA.....October 2012

Well to all my friends and family.....here I am writing my last entry on the blogsite. I think? Who knows....I may keep writing from time to time to update you all on what is going on with Shea out in LA. Today was spent cleaning....organizing....taping lists up everywhere for Shea (sure those will be ripped down as soon as I'm gone!) and finishing up my packing. I drove Shea to her 4:30 audition for a guest role on "Suburgatory." Sam (the guy Shea is seeing) came walking up carrying a bouquet of flowers....he lives nearby and wanted to see Shea and give her the flowers when she came out of her audition. Is he sweet or what? :) Anyway, while we were waiting for Shea....Sam's manager called him to tell him he had gotten the part! He auditioned for the "high school boyfriend" on "Suburgatory" this morning! Soooo happy for him! I took Shea to Whole Foods ~ to show her around the store ~ and where all the things were that she would want. Then we grabbed a bite to eat. Now we are just going to snuggle on the couch and I'm going to try to not cry! Sam is going with us to the airport in the morning. I am excited to get home to Chris! Til the next time.....

Days 74 and 75 in LA.....October 2012

Hello.....yesterday I went to Bible Study....the ladies had a little going away luncheon for me ~ which was very sweet....I sure am going to miss those wonderful girls! Shea worked on her two papers that were due today. We went to another agent meeting yesterday afternoon. Today Shea was up and gone early for her classes at PCC. I did laundry....organized and cleaned the apartment....and wrote lots of lists for Shea...ha! I walked to the CVS to get meds. for Shea and I...gave Gracie a bath...and starting my packing. :( Shea is at her acting class tonight 5 - 9 pm. Shea has an audition tomorrow for a guest role on a comedy sit-com. Only one more day here...and then flying home...Til tomorrow.....

Days 71, 72 and 73 in LA.....October 2012

Hello.....sorry about that....let 3 days go by....alright, Day 71 ~ Saturday...Shea needed to go clothes shopping....so, that's what we did....we went to an area we had never been to ~ Westwood ~ really cute area...little boutiques, fun restaurants, neat theaters....we went to two brand new stores in LA...."Brandy Melville" and "Keene". And OF COURSE she loved EVERYTHING in sight! ha! I did put a limit on her! :) We had lunch at a cute little place....then drove to a theater that was showing the movie we wanted to see ~ "Pitch Perfect" ~ pretty funny stuff! We grabbed a bite for dinner ~ then called it a day! It was wonderful spending the entire day with Shea....and just having fun! Day 72 ~ Sunday...Shea has a project due in her Anthropology class ~ she chose to study different religions. She went to a Buddist Temple and attended the service ~ Sam went with her. They were there over 3 hours! She said it was interesting....but, that the core of their message is just to make yourself happy. She thought it was very shallow. Sam had told Shea he wanted to take me out to dinner (with Shea) before I leave. Which was so sweet! We went out last night for sushi. Sam is 19 years old...going to college....persuing acting...from Boston. Shea met him at an acting class. He really seems like a great guy! And here we are Day 73 ~ today...I had to get up really early(5:45am) and drive Shea to PCC for her 7am class. I had a doctor's appt. today and needed the car. I wanted this doctor to check my hormone levels ~ as well as get a full thyroid panel done. I had the blood work done ~ and the Dr. will receive the results in @ 4 days. She will call me....and she said she can send the prescriptions to our CVS in Georgia. I stayed in Valencia and did some shopping....ate lunch....then went and picked up Shea. She is at her acting rehearsal now ~ 6-9pm. I have Bible Study tomorrow morning....then Shea has another agent meeting in the afternoon. Can't believe I am leaving in 4 days. Til tomorrow.....

Day 70 in LA.....October 2012

Happy Friday! Sharon picked me up at 9am this morning and we drove to Simi Valley to go to the Ronald Reagan Library. Really enjoyed going thru it all ~ very well done! He sure was a great guy and president! We need another Ronald Reagan in the office again! Shea had her acting rehearsal to go to again today from 11am - 2 pm. She then cleaned the bathroom and got all her laundry done before she drove over to Oakwood for the evening to see all her friends. She's spending the night at Sloane's. She plans to get back here tomorrow by noon....then we are going to spend the rest of the day together....shopping...maybe a movie? Not sure? Til tomorrow.....

Day 69 in LA.....October 2012

Howdy! I went with Shea today to her meeting at Pantheon to meet with the owner of the talent agency. She met with two of the agents....they both liked her....they will be getting in touch with Jamie to get some more info on Shea....then they want her to come back and see the rest of the agents that work there after that. They are a very well-known agency...and would be her agents for commercials as well as tv and film. Shea is at her acting rehearsal this evening. I am going with Sharon tomorrow morning to the Ronald Reagan Library. Looking forward to that! Shea has another rehearsal tomorrow at 11 am. She's going over to Oakwood tomorrow night to see all her friends and spend the night at Sloane's. Then she and I are spending the rest of the weekend together....as this is my last weekend here. I am booked on a flight to return home next Friday ~ the 12th. Til tomorrow.....

Day 68 in LA.....October 2012

Hello......Wednesdays are busy days for Shea at school. Shea is at her new acting class tonight ~ it's with Lesly Kahn again....this one is covering comedy and drama. This clinic lasts 4 weeks.....and she will have the rehearsal classes each day again. So, Shea will be super busy this next month. Jamie wants us to send out postcards with all her new headshot photos ~ and updated resume to all the casting directors here in LA. So, will be ordering those and sending them out this coming week. We have a meeting with Pantheon Talent Agency tomorrow at 12:30 pm ~ to see what they think about Shea as far as representing her as her agent for tv and film. Excited to see "The Middle" and "Modern Family" tonight! Til tomorrow.....

Day 67 in LA.....October 2012

Hello all! Shea dropped me off at Lisa's this morning for Bible Study...then she went on to her dermatologist appt. Sharon brought me back to apartment after our meeting. Shea has been studying all day for her mid-term she has tomorrow in her Anthropology class. Jamie sent us info about the meeting she has set up with a new agency to represent Shea for TV and Film ~ we will be meeting with them this Thursday afternoon. Til tomorrow.....

Day 66 in LA.....October 2012

October 1st....can't believe it?! Shea had a full day of classes today. Jamie told us that the producers of the new show ~ "Bates Motel" ~ coming out next year ~ decided to go with all known named actors for the show. But, casting really liked Shea and said they wanted her to come in to read for guest roles. I have Bible Study in the morning....classes are cancelled for Shea tomorrow....she has her midterm for Anthropology on Wednesday...so, she will be studying. Til tomorrow.....

Day 64 and 65 in LA.....September 2012

We're back!!! Shea and I arrived late yesterday afternoon...we picked up Gracie and headed to the apartment. We were beat....so, we ordered a pizza and a couple of movies from On Demand and "vegged" on the couch! We had a great time out in Colorado for the wedding! It was wonderful to be with Chris, Topher and Libby and see the rest of the extended family. We enjoyed all the festivities....bridal luncheon, rehearsal dinner and wedding and reception. Laura Kate was a gorgeous bride and her hubby, Bill is a one-in-a-million guy! What a love he is! We did trek up the mountains in the Rocky Mountain National Park several times. Absolutely gorgeous! LOVE those Fall colors!! The elk, deer and rams were out everywhere. So cool to see them all. It was a great trip! Shea had to write a paper today....I hit Whole Foods and got us groceries. We are both unpacked and ready for the week ahead. Jamie said that there are three agents that she thinks want to meet w/ Shea this coming week ~ so, will be waiting to get those appt. times. Shea begins her second part of the acting classes with Lesly Kahn ~ this Wednesday. She will be studying comedy and drama during this four week clinic. Shea has gone to dinner with Sam tonight. Day 63 in LA.....September 2012

Hello all! Shea had her classes at PCC today. I had just little odds and ends I needed to do to get ready for our trip to Colorado. I took Gracie to Sovi (the boarder) tonight....and what a sweet lady....Gracie was already all over her giving her kisses! Shea just packed up all her stuff....I still need to do that. Shea has a class tomorrow morning....then we will head to the Bob Hope airport around noon...park our car...and our flight out is at 2:50 pm. Chris picks us up at 6 pm....we will go grab a bite...then pick up Toph and Libby at 9 pm....and head to Estes Park ~ about an hour and a half drive. The Bridesmaids Luncheon is Wed. morning....the Rehearsal that evening....then the wedding is on Thursday....we all fly home on Saturday. I won't be writing while we are away.....I will catch you all up Saturday or Sunday! Til then....

Days 61 and 62 in LA.....Spetember 2012

Shea spent the night at Oakwood....I got up and went on a long walk. World Vision is now allowing us to mail packages to the child we sponsor in Haiti ~ Phalanda....so, I bought some things for her and mailed two packages to her on Saturday. It will take a couple of weeks to arrive. Shea got back later in the afternoon.....we went and picked up Harrison and drove to Santa Monica for dinner. I "thought" it would be fun to go to a raw and vegan restaurant. BAD idea! I loved my chamomille tea...and the kids loved drinking their coconut water right out of a fresh coconut. However, when they bit into their "tacos" and there was something very hard they bit into....well, they were NOT happy! ha! Instead of meat (since vegan) ~ they had a bar of walnut meal in the taco! Yum! We both had nail appts. this morning..... getting ready for the wedding. Shea wrote her English paper today that is due tomorrow. And we got all our laundry done. Hi! I ran some errands yesterday....Harrison came over to visit....and have dinner with us....and then Shea, Harrison and Sloane went out last night. It was Harrison's last hoorah....his Dad is coming for the weekend ~ then he leaves Sunday for college. So that was their last night to all hang out together. Shea had an R&R day today. Shea took the car and is hanging with Sloane tonight at Oakwood. Gracie and I are just hanging out watching tv. Til tomorrow.....

Days 57 and 58 in LA.....September 2012

Hello bloggers! Busy couple of days....Shea had her writing class yesterday morning. We were without a car....so, our wonderful Harrison....drove Shea to PCC and me to Lisa's for Bible Study. Sure was great to see all the ladies! Then Sharon and I went out to lunch and visited. Shea was hosting the 3 hour comedy rehearsal at our apt. 12 noon - 3 pm....so, I wanted to stay away. :) Sharon dropped me off at the car place ~ as our car was repaired and good to go! PTL! Shea had her AT&T comedy spec. spot commercial shoot last night ~ 6 - 11 pm. I went with her....I always have fun watching all that goes into making one of these! I found out that it is a contest ~ 10 groups are entering their commercial to AT&T ~ they will pick a winner ~ and whoever wins ~ will have 24 seconds of their commercial shown nation wide ~ which is really cool! REALLY busy day for Shea today....first class at 7 am....then drove downtown for her 11:45 am audition...the casting director knows Shea and told her that she was too young for this role...but, that she loved her and will be calling her in to read for a comedy show on MTV soon. I packed up all the favor/gifts for my niece's bridal luncheon today....I'm going to carry them on...and OF COURSE I would pick something breakable like GLASS?! So, had to wrap each one! ha! Shea went back to PCC for her Anthropology class this afternoon. She is now at her 6 hour comedy intensive class with Lesly Kahn. This is the last class. She really has enjoyed that class and knows she has learned so much! Til tomorrow.....

Day 56 in LA.....September 2012

Hello.....Shea had a full day at school today. I went on a long walk. When Shea got back with the car...I took it to run a few errands.....made one....and "then" engine light goes on....then water light on....(Ugh!)....THEN I hear this strange rattling noise? Like the bottom of the car was going to fall off....not a good sound?! Soooo.....knew no more errands....had to find a car repair shop....just as I pulled in one....smoke....lots of it....from under the hood ~ good times! :( Well....the water cooler...is no more....it's a goner! Said I had no coolant....and needed a new furnace too. (think that's the right word?) Anyway....had to leave the car...so our precious ~ wonderful ~ ALWAYS there friend, Harrison came to the rescue AGAIN! He picked me up at the car shop....and drove Shea to her comedy rehearsal tonight...and is bringing her back to the apartment. What would we do without Harrison?! The repairman said he hopes to have the car repaired by late tomorrow. I do feel very blessed that I made it to the car shop....and wasn't stranded on the side of the road! I am so looking forward to seeing all the ladies tomorrow for Bible Study. Harrison's mom ~ Sharon is picking me up. Shea is hosting the comedy rehearsal here tomorrow 12 noon ~ 3pm. She's taping the AT&T spot tomorrow night 6 - 11pm...sure it will go later! Til tomorrow.....

Day 55 in LA.....September 2012

Hope you all had a great weekend! Shea had her comedy rehearsal from 11-2pm today. I made a big pot of chili in the crockpot this am....and let it cook all day. Shea took the car in for an oil change after her rehearsal. I invited Harrison over for chili and cornbread. He came and ate with us before he had to go to work. He leaves next Sunday for college. He will be an hour away - living in a dorm - so, not sure how often he will get up this way. Til tomorrow.....

Days 53 and 54 in LA.....September 2012

Hello.....not much going on yesterday....Shea had her 3 hour comedy rehearsal...I cleaned the apartment....Shea spent the night with Sloane at Oakwood....I went to Glendale Galleria (mall) and walked around. Busy day today.....I took Gracie to a vetinarian today....I thought she had tapeworms (GROSS!) Never had a dog get this before....the doctor said she must have eaten a sick flea...and was infected. She was given a pill to take care of this. Brought her back to the apartment...then went to pick up Shea at Oakwood. I drove Shea to Hollywood for her AT&T rehearsal. It was great to see Nick again (from GIA) ~ they ran thru the lines a few times....and said she was good to go. She will be taping this on Tuesday night. We were hungry...so, we stopped at this cute little french restaurant for lunch. Guess who walked by us? Jason Bateman! I love him! Soooo funny! Shea then left and drove to her 3 hour comedy rehearsal that was nearby. I stayed and walked around all the little shops...really was fun to just be relaxed and hang out. Shea picked me up on Melrose when she was done. She's gone out to dinner with Sam now. (Let this Mom say for the record.....Sam is a cutie-pa-tutie and very much a gentleman!) Til tomorrow.....

Day 52 in LA.....September 2012

Hi! I needed the car today to get to my hair appt......so, Harrison came and picked Shea up and took her to her comedy rehearsal at 11 am and picked her up and brought her back at 2pm. Shea is absolutely LOVING this acting class....and is learning so much! I needed to get new ink cartridges for our printer after my hair appt. Then went grocery shopping. Shea was invited to go to a concert tonight with friends. Til tomorrow.....

Day 51 in LA.....September 2012

Hello.....Wednesdays are busy for Shea....leaves the apt. at 6:30 am for her 7am class at PCC....stays for her Anthropology class....studying in-between...came back around 4pm for about an hour....then headed to her 6 hour comedy class. She has an audition next Wed. for a starring role in a new pilot. I have a hair appt. tomorrow with Marcie for a color and cut. Til tomorrow.....

Day 50 in LA.....September 2012

Hi! Shea had her Writing class this am at PCC......then went right to her comedy rehearsal after that....Shea had the car ~ so, I walked to the downtown area and went to the Post Office and mailed the disk of new pix of Shea to Jamie. I stayed down there and walked around....went to Trader Joe's to get a few things....sat and had a yummy "Pumpkin Spice" latte....my favorite....LOVE Fall! :) Talked to Jamie again today...Nick(prod.GIA) who wants Shea to do the AT&T project is changing the words on the contract to New Media...so, all is good with Shea and SAG/AFTRA. This project that they are shooting next week is a spec. spot....they will shoot it ~ then take it to AT&T and(hopefully!) sale it to them. Shea will not be paid for the shoot on Tuesday. But, Jamie has asked that if and when they do sell this to AT&T that Shea will be under contract to be in the commercial they shoot. So, that's cool....so glad we have Jamie! Til tomorrow.....

Day 49 in LA.....September 2012

Howdy! Lots to share today.....Shea had her classes at PCC today.....the producer from GIA called and asked Shea to be in his upcoming commercial shoot. It's a comedy spec. spot for AT&T. They are shooting it next Thursday 6-11pm. Jamie wants to talk to Nick (producer) and make sure he knows Shea is SAG/AFTRA ~ and will be paid accordingly. Shea is again at her acting class tonight...8-11pm.....oh yeah, you know the black gentleman that does all those Old Spice commercials ~ rides the horse ~(they're really funny!) ~ he is in this acting class with Shea. She said he is a super nice guy! I spoke with Jamie today....Felix~who is Shea's commercial agent ~ is switching and going theatrical now (tv and film). And Jamie is really not happy with Matt ~ who is Shea's agent for tv and film. Soooo.....looks like we will be "agent shopping" again! :) It's kind of a pain....but, am glad Jamie is on top of this.... and Shea will have agents that are working hard for her. Til tomorrow.....

Days 47 and 48 in LA.....September 2012

Hello bloggers! Shea had a hair appt. yesterday with Marcie to have her highlights done. She went from there right to her comedy rehearsal from 7-10 pm. Sharon (Harrison's mom) picked me up and we went to dinner here in Montrose ~ sat outside and had a lovely meal. Shea had a photo shoot this afternoon in Sunland - only 10 minutes away. This is for her new headshots....Jamie had four different looks she wanted taken. I definitely do think Kevin was successful in that! He gave us the disk of over 400 pictures. We will get the disk to Jamie now.....she will pick the ones she wants for the headshots....then we will get them printed! Shea dropped me off....then she drove to her comedy rehearsal that is 7-10 tonight. I'm doing laundry. Til tomorrow.....

Day 46 in LA.....September 2012

Happy Friday! Shea had her comedy rehearsal today 11 am - 2 pm. I took Shea to Oakwood this afternoon to hang with Sloane and other friends....she's spending the night there. I stopped by Americana outdoor shopping center....just a gorgeous day ~ wanted to just enjoy the beautiful weather...and do some people watching! :) Jamie sent us a list of all the different looks she wants Shea to have done by the photographer on Sunday for her new headshots....til tomorrow.....

Day 45 in LA.....September 2012

Hello.....Shea is thrilled with her acting class....she didn't get home til 1 am ~ class went to 12:30 am....nuts! :) But, this teacher, Lesly Kahn is really pushing them and Shea loves that! I was incorrect about saying Shea would meet up with a partner....she meets the entire class...they take turns at places....every day for 3 hours for the next 3 weeks....Shea said it was awesome...and she's so excited about being pushed like this....and learning so much! Til tomorrow.....

Day 44 in LA.....September 2012

hey! Shea left early this am for her 7 am English class.....then she stayed on PCC campus and studied....I worked all day on a project....I was making the favor/gift for the Bridal luncheon for Laura Kate (my niece) and her bridesmaids. All of the Aunts are hosting the luncheon. Shea got home around 3:30 - after her Anthropology class. I made a very early dinner for us....as, Shea left the apartment before 4 pm to drive to her new acting class. The class didn't start til 6 ~ but, she was concerned about traffic. This class is a Comedy Intensive one ~ with Lesly Kahn ~ it's from 6 pm - midnight! Yes, I said midnight....crazy?! She has this every Wednesday for the next three weeks....and has to rehearse for 3 hours every day with the partner she gets tonight. So, she's going to be one busy lady the next three weeks! Til tomorrow.....

Pretty quiet day in LA.....Shea had her writing class this am at PCC....I cleaned the apartment....Shea did some shopping after classes....I ran to Whole Foods for groceries when Shea got back with the car. Shea has a really busy day tomorrow....with classes and her new acting class beginning tom. night...til then.....

Days 40, 41 and 42 in LA.....September 2012

Hello.....hope everyone had a fun and safe Labor Day weekend! We sure did! It was so wonderful having Chris here....we had a great time! Harrison was here with us a lot. We went hiking yesterday.... we all went sliding off a small cliff and swimming in a gorgeous pool of water...absolutely beautiful sites to see up in the mountains. I will see Chris again in 3 weeks in Colorado ~ when we all meet up (Topher and Libby too) there for our niece's wedding. It's back to the books for Shea tomorrow. She's really excited about starting her comedy intensive classes on Wednesday night! Til tomorrow.....

Days 38 and 39 in LA.....August 2012

Hello and Happy Friday.....! Not much to report from yesterday....Shea was at PCC..I met my friend Angela for a visit....we cleaned the apartment....made pizzas last night for Shea, Harrison and myself. Soooo excited today! Chris' flight arrives in 2 1/2 hrs. at LAX! :) We don't really have any plans for the weekend ~ just being together! Hope you all have a terrific Labor Day Weekend! Not going to write the blog for a couple of days...will update it after the long weekend...til then.....

Day 37 in LA.....August 2012

Hi! Shea was at PCC early this morning for her 7 am English class. Gracie and I went on a long walk. Shea came back to the apartment and got ready for her audition at 11:30am. She was reading for the role of Emma ~ in the new show "Bates Motel." Shea was thrilled because Jessie McCartney (singer and actor in lots of things) was there auditioning for another role. Ha! He is a cutie-pa-tootie! Shea went in and did her read. Casting loved her. They said she was not the right look for this role....but, they did have a role she was perfect for...Bradley (it's a girl!)....another role on this same show. They gave her the script for Bradley....she read it for 5 minutes ~ then went in and did a "cold read" (when actor is just given the script and has no time to practice or learn before they audition). She had learned all the lines that quickly ~ the casting directors couldn't believe it! So, she obviously felt great about this audition....but, you know....you just never do know....from casting it goes to writers, directors, producers, etc. And they all have to feel she is right for the role! So....it's in God's hands....if it's meant to be ~ it will! :) Shea then went back to PCC for her Anthropology class at 1:30 pm. Only one day now til Chris is HERE with us! Til tomorrow.....

Day 36 in LA.....August 2012

hello....no, locking myself out today! :) Shea was again at PCC today. I spoke with that woman that I am boarding Gracie with in September ~ Sovi ~ she is so nice. She adores animals....and rescues dogs....and boards also. But, she keeps those two separated. Gracie will be walked 3 times a day....get to play with her pups....and even sleep with her at night. Really feel blessed in finding her! Shea and I had chicken and rice for dinner tonight. It's early to PCC tomorrow for Shea....she is trying to add a class ~ so, she's going to see the Professor at 7 am....then another class....an audition at 11:30 am for a starring role:Emma in a new tv show ~ "Bates Motel." Then back to PCC for Anthropology class at 1:30pm. Chris will be here in two days ~ yippee! Til tomorrow.....

Day 35 in LA.....August 2012

Happy Monday! Shea began her classes at PCC today....she loved it! Gracie and I just hung out at the apartment. I called a lady today about boarding Gracie with her while Shea and I go to Colorado (for my niece's wedding) for 5 days the end of September....hopefully she will call me back and I can set that all up. Thru in a load of laundry today....a n d LOCKED the door ~ yep, didn't take a key! :( And of course, it's the manager's day off on Mondays! Tried to find the grounds keeper ~ but, no success....soooooo, I climbed up the hill and got on the a/c and crawled thru a window...thank goodness I had the windows open...can't get the screen back on now.... til tomorrow.....

Day 34 in LA.....August 2012

hello.....I didn't sleep well last night....kept waking up every hour....ugh! So we slept in this am...til around 9:30....(for me ~ Shea was much later! ha!) I went and filled the car up with gas....then went to the Farmer's Market for our weekly organic fruits and veggies....and CVS to pick up meds....then Gracie and I went for a long walk thru the park and nearby neighborhoods....I cooked Orange Roughy, mashed potatoes and made a salad for dinner tonight...Shea begins her classes at PCC in the morning...til tomorrow.....

Day 33 in LA.....August 2012

Hi! Just a relaxing day....did give Gracie a bath.....met Sharon (Harrison's mom) for dinner tonight at Hugo's....a favorite here in LA. It was great to see Sharon and catch up. Shea went to Paty's w/ friends for lunch today ~ and saw Dakota Fanning there. Going to church in the morning....Shea has an audition this Wed. at 11:30 am for the role of: Emma in a new show ~ "Bates Motel." Til tomorrow.....

Day 32 in LA.....August 2012

hi! Harrison went with Shea to PCC early this morning around 8:30am....to get her student ID, and books, parking permit, etc.....she's really psyched....and thrilled that PCC's school colors are the same as FSU's! :) Shea is spending the night at Oakwood w/ Sloane tonight.....so, it's just Gracie and me hanging out...we're watching "My Best Friend's Wedding." Til tomorrow.....

Day 31 in LA.....August 2012

Howdy! Ok ~ another hike today....this time it was Shea, Harrison and me. It was a four mile hike....and it was relatively easy....the path was nice....except it was like at a 45 degree angle going UP the entire time...two hours!....Shea and Harrison were like jogging up....I was a "huffin' and a puffin'! :) The going down was easy! Shea is going to PCC tomorrow morning to get her books, student ID, parking pass, etc. She has an audition on Monday for a brand new show ~ "Bates Motel" ~ as a series regular ~ role: Emma. A week from tomorrow Chris will be HERE! Yahoo! It will have been 5 weeks when I see him....too long! Til tomorrow.....

Day 30 in LA.....August 2012

Hello.....Shea and I went to a 9 am Zumba class today..afterwards...I showered, then drove and met my friend Angela for a visit. Shea worked out in the gym here...did her laundry...and walked to the downtown area and sat and read her book. After our pizza dinner...I painted Shea's fingernails and toenails ~ black w/red dots! :) Harrison just got back from a trip and is over to hang with us this evening and spend the night! Think we are watching a movie....and then hanging by the pool tomorrow? Til then.....

Days 28 and 29 in LA.....August 2012

Hello.....not much to report from yesterday.....we did go to a Zumba class last night. Today I went and got my nails done....so used to just walking into places without an appt.....but, guess that's not the case here....after going to SIX places...finally found someone that could do my nails! Then needed to make a Wal-Mart run....closest one is 15 miles away...which in LA traffic means over an hour drive. So....over three hours later....back to the apartment with all my goods from Wal-Mart. Really slow here as far as auditions for Shea. She is getting ready to start her classes at PCC next Monday. Til tomorrow.....

Hello....I think Shea has a "secret plan" of killing off her mother?! ha! We went on ANOTHER hike today.....FIVE miles.....at the very beginning of our hike ~ we see a very large Rattle Snake ~ no, not kidding....just a few feet in front of us....we ran back....watched him cross the path and leave....and decided to go anyway? We are sore and tired...but, we are back safe and sound ~ PTL! Made a trip to the weekly Farmer's Market today to get all our fresh organic produce! Til tomorrow.....

Day 27 in LA........... August 18th

Hello.....well...we "thought" we were going to a Zumba class last night....but, the teacher was a no-show.....as we were walking around the Glendale downtown area ~ they were handing out free tickets to the screening of a new Christian movie being released in October. What an incredible blessing it was! The movie "Father of Lights" is the 3rd film in a Christian triology of films. They had a time of worship before the movie ~ It was Jake Hamilton and his group....they were incredible. Then the writer, producer and director ~ Darren Wilson came out and spoke. Then we watched the film. It's wonderful ~ very moving ~ one of those that you want all the people you love to see! Please go see this movie! Today Shea and I went to Runyon Canyon to hike and do a yoga class. It was very hot....but, there was a path and lots of people. So, no getting lost today! ha! Afterwards we went and had lunch at Sun Cafe. Stephen Collins (the father on 7th Heaven) was sitting at table next to ours. Shea and I both are big fans of his. We went to see "Hope Springs" this afternoon. It's funny! Til tomorrow.....

Days 24 and 25 in LA.....August 2012

HAPPY FRIDAY! Not much to report from yesterday.....just a laundry and grocery shopping day. We did see a report on the LA News last night ~ that two men got lost near Switzer Falls this week (same exact place Shea and I were and got lost this past Sunday) and had to be air-lifted (helicopter) out of there! That place is scary ~ I'm just saying.....it's Friday and I'm missing my man! :( And I have to wait TWO MORE weeks til I see him! Shea called and signed up for Lesly Kahn's Comedy Intensive classes that begin on Sept. 5th. The classes are every Wed. from 6pm to 12 midnight. Then she has to rehearse three hours a day every day for three weeks with her partner. It will be a lot of work ~ but, Shea is super psyched about it! We are going to a Kumba exercising class tonight at 5pm. Til tomorrow.....

Hi! We set up Shea's photography session for her new Headshots to be taken today. She will be photographed by Kevin McIntyre on September 9th. Shea had fun at the Sprint commercial audition today. Nolan Gould (from Modern Family) was there auditioning too. That's all for now.....til tomorrow.....

Hello! Shea LOVED her 3-hour acting class (Lesly Kahn) she audited this afternoon. She definitely wants to join her classes. She has to take a 3-week intensive class (every Wed.) 6pm-12 midnight ~ before she can join the class. Lesly wants Shea in her class for comedy ~ which starts in Sept. She has an audition tomorrow for a Sprint commercial. I was given the information from "The Event" that Shea attended this past July. Days 19, 20 and 21 in LA.....August 2012

Hello bloggers! Didn't write over the weekend.....so, writing for Sat, Sunday and today! Not a lot to report. I took Shea to an organic-vegan restaurant Sat. night. I couldn't breathe she had me laughing so hard. She was making fun of everything.... But, as she would take a bite ~ it surprisingly tasted good to her! ha! Yesterday we thought we would be healthy and go on a nice hike. Shea went online to check out places. She found a place ~ a National Park ~ not too far from the apartment. She said the info stated it was an "easy" hike. We were ready....we had a backpack filled with 4 waters...we had our phones....we were covered in suncreen....we would succeed! We were on the trail around 2pm. OK ~ I'm making a phone call to the National Park Service....this was NOT an easy hike! Good grief...we both were sliding off rocks...stepping on stones to cross creeks...WITH SNAKES....oh and yeah Shea STEPPED on one ~ she "thought" it was a stick....NOPE ~ a snake! :( I was straddling logs just to stay on the "path?" Ok...so, we are on our "hike" an hour and a half....we see a marker....and see that yes, right is the correct way to go(we are trying to get to Spritzer Falls to jump in and cool off).....when I say difficult ~ that is an understatement....I ended up in tears....and pulled my back....after an hour of clinging to rock edges for our life....and seeing NO OTHER human life....I said Shea I can't go any further....and why aren't we seeing other hikers? Ok ~ we are almost three hours on this hike now...I've pulled my back...we're lost....and we have 1 1/2 waters left....think I forgot to mention that California has been enduring a heatwave this week.....had I KNOWN it was going to be a "rock-climbing hike" I most definitely would have packed more waters! Sooooo, we hike BACK to that marker(an hour)....there is a couple walking up from the OPPOSITE direction, we ask where Spritzer Falls is.. he says...."Oh, just around that corner?!!!" Aarrrrrrgggghhhhh! I tell Shea to go on....my 52 year old back is screaming!!! She goes....comes back very unimpressed with the waterfall....good times! ha! Oh this is FUN! The exciting news now is ~ we have to hike BACK the hour and a half hike we made in the first place to this spot. We're down to one water now. The sun is starting to go down....I'm thinking ok...we didn't tell anyone where we were going....there ARE coyotes, bears, bobcats, etc. in this area....and our phones have NO signals....seriously, if you were to get bitten or hurt out there....there is NO help....that WILL be your final resting place! We have no food....no first-aid kit....definitely not well planned! So....Shea tells me she could jog back...(isn't she precious!)...I'm limping...and sweating....and praying.....and can see Shea way up the trail....nice?! The GOOD news we made it....Praise God....we were pretty dehydrated...and filthy....few scrapes and bruises....but, we are good! Kind of....I've been taking Aleve ~ and alternating ice and heat on my back all day....tough getting older! ha! You can bet If and When we go on another hike ~ Momma Bear will be reading up on the site and get thorough info on it! Today....well, it's been and R and R day for us....! Til tomorrow.....

Hello.....yahoo ~ it's the weekend....BUT, I don't have my man here for our Friday night date?! :( I talked to Mark Rosman(director of G.I.A.) last night (via email.) He said that he has still been pitching GIA and trying to sell it...there is a producer who LOVES it....and it seeking an agency interested in producing the show ~ which is very exciting news! Day 17 in LA.....August 2012

Howdy! Gracie and I went on a long walk today...and it's hot here...we were a- panting and a-sweating! I went to Whole Foods to buy Shea and I lots of healthy groceries. I received the most beautiful letter today ~ a family had found our blog and left a note ~ asking if I would send my email address ~ so, they could get in touch with me. This Mom typed God, LA, acting and Disney on her computer....and our blog popped up! So cool ~ I'm so happy she found it. Know it was God! This family is from NJ ~ and has a son who is pursuing acting. They went to an open call in Kansas City....and they LOVED him...she said things have been moving really fast since then. They were told to get him representation and are considering moving to California. They are beautiful Christians and believe they are being led by God. She has asked if I could help them in any way ~ with any wisdom or advice I have to give after our experiences over the past two years. I feel so blessed to be able to do this and help them in any way I can. Til tomorrow.....

Happy Wednesday! I went online to check out the list of photographers Jamie gave us for Shea's new headshots. I narrowed it down to two....and Shea looked at them and chose one out of the two. I will call them next week to make an appt. Oh yeah...we had TWO earthquakes here today...one at 1 am.....and then other one around 9:45 am. Only a 4.4 on the scale they measure them on. I met my friend Angela (from Bible Study) again today for lunch at the Sun Cafe....I saw Mena Suvari there....she is a young actress in the American Pie movies ~ and also in American Beauty film. Jamie sent me a list of photographers ~ that I am to go online and check out ~ and decide which one we want to take Shea's new headshot photos. Day 14 in LA.....August 2012

Hello.....I went out and ran errands today.....Shea stayed at the apartment brainstorming ideas for filming for Dan Levy. Shea, Harrison and I drove to Santa Monica this evening....walked out on the boardwalk...I had the camera and filmed the two of them as they walked around asking people questions and being silly. We got some great footage. Shea has an audition tomorrow afternoon for a lead role in a film. Til tomorrow.....

Hi! Went to St. Luke's Episcopal church this morning.....the building is very old...but, the service was contemporary....the music was wonderful...I really enjoyed the priest's message....a beautiful spirit-filled church. I will definitely be attending church there as long as I am here. After that, I went to the Farmer's Market I told you about last week....I purchased some great organic produce. Came back to the apartment to put it all away and get Gracie out....took Shea and Harrison to brunch....then went to Old Pasadena to do some shopping....just made dinner for Shea and Harrison and myself....now we are going to watch a movie. Hope Jamie calls with LOTS of auditions this coming week! Til tomorrow.....

Hello.....Shea's jewelry (necklaces, earrings and bracelets) were all in one giant knot ~ I'm not kidding...so, I got my tweezers and got everything separated...and then hung them all up on hooks I put on the wall.....Gracie and I went on a long walk again today thru the park. Shea and Harrison went down to Hollywood Blvd. this evening to just brainstorm and think of ideas for interviewing people. I'm going to church in the morning....St. Luke's Episcopal...it's really close....then I will go to the farmer's market afterwards. Til tomorrow.....

Hello and Happy Friday! We didn't have anything on our schedule for today. Gracie and I went for a long walk. We have a park just down the road....we walk there every day. Today we walked thru the park and then thru neighborhoods. I went to the Americana shopping area this afternoon. Shea was having a few friends over and wanted Mom to "disappear!" ha! I enjoyed walking around in the beautiful weather. Shea is spending the night with Sloane at Oakwood tonight. It's just Gracie and me hanging out together this evening. Til tomorrow.....

Day 10 in LA.....August 2012

Hello bloggers! Very exciting day for Shea. I went into the meeting with Dan Levy at New Wave Entertainment studios....and let me correct myself....he is NOT Eugene Levy's son....Eugene Levy DOES have a son named Dan Levy that is in the entertainment business...but, this is a different Dan Levy....he is also a comedian....writer on shows such as Whitney, etc....and has several shows on MTV....after seeing Shea's reel of work and viewing the UTube videos he asked her to send him....he really wants to work with Shea. He ultimately wants to go to Disney with material Shea has taped and sell the idea of a talk show interviewing the "younger" stars. He told Shea he wants her to take a camera down to Hollywood Blvd. and just interview people ~ be funny! Shea is thrilled...this is just what she loves to do! I will keep 'ya posted on that project. Shea felt great about her audition this afternoon....she knows the casting director she read for....this is for a guest starring role on a new show ~ "Dog With a Blog." The weather here has been beautiful....we have not had the air conditioning on for four days....love it! Til tomorrow.....

Day 9 in LA.....August 2012

Hi....Jamie called this am ~ to talk about the meeting tomorrow with Dan Levy. Basically they just want to meet Shea...and get to know her. The meeting will be with the producers, writers and director of the project they are interested in having Shea star in. They read the article about Shea in Entertainment Weekly ~ saw her reel ~ so, they have seen some of her work. This project is an improv/sketch comedy show ~ which Shea LOVES! Jamie said they want to make sure Shea gets the right series ~ if indeed she is to have one. It would be a four year contract. Dan Levy is the son of Eugene Levy, who starred in all 8 "American Pie" films. Very exciting!! I had lunch with Angela today in Burbank ~ she is a doll! Shea audited an acting class this afternoon...she said she will NOT be going back to that class...this instructor told them they didn't have to learn their lines....they should just "feel them!" ha! She couldn't get out of there fast enough! Shea also has an audition tomorrow afternoon for a guest role on a new show ~ "Dog With A Blog." Til tomorrow.....

Day 8 in LA.....July 2012

Hello.....Shea and Harrison went on a two-hour hike today....we made a few returns to CVS and Ikea....We just watched "LOL" new movie w/ Miley Cyrus released on DVD. It was "ok".....of course Shea thought it was OUTSTANDING! ha! I am meeting one of the gals(Angela) from our Bible Study tomorrow for lunch. Shea is auditing an acting class with Margie Haber tomorrow afternoon....that's all for now....til tomorrow.....

Day 7 in LA.....July 2012

Wow ~ what a fast week! Shea and I were up early this morning to get over to PCC to get her classes all set for fall. Shea had to stand in line for about an hour just to get an appt. to see a counselor(later) about her school schedule. She went back to PCC at noon to stand in yet another line for over an hour to FINALLY meet with a counselor. And didn't get great news....all new students get to register for classes AFTER everyone else already has....all of the core classes she needs are completely filled...ugh! So.....she is going to have to take classes that aren't core classes (math, english, science)...that she also needs. She is going to continue to check online to see if any classes open up....and she is also going to go to see the Professors of the core classes she needs ~ to see if they possibly have space available. The counselor did tell Shea that now she is enrolled as a student ~ she won't have to wait so late to sign up for classes next semester. She also set up some classes w/ new acting teachers today ~ to audit ~ then she will decide who's class she wants to continue with. Dan Levy's(producer) secretary called today to set up a meeting with Shea about his new project ~ it's this Thursday at 11am in Burbank. I will attend the meeting with Shea. Shea's at a Zumba exercise class now. Til tomorrow.....

Days 5 and 6 in LA....July 2012

Chris and I put together several pieces of furniture from Ikea and Target for Shea yesterday....we went to the little downtown area for a yummy Italian dinner...then went to the theatre here to see "The Watch"....very funny movie! Harrison was over visiting Shea last night ~ and ended up crashing here. Chris and I and Gracie walked to downtown Glendale this am ~ for the weekly Farmer's Market. They close down the entire street and have tents and sell all their wonderful organic produce. It was so fun! Shea and I drove Chris to the Burbank airport (Bob Hope)this afternoon ~ so he could get his rent-a-car. He then left to drive to Las Vegas ~ where he has business til Wednesday. I dropped Shea off at Oakwood ~ so, she could hang out with some friends. Dan Levy (producer that saw Shea in the Entertainment Weekly article ~ and wants to possibly have her work on his next project) got in touch with Shea today and said he would like to meet with her this coming week. Jamie (manager) is going to talk to him about what he is thinking of doing for this project tomorrow. She wants me to go to the meeting with Shea. We are going to Pasadena City College early tomorrow morning to get Shea all signed up for her fall classes. Til tomorrow.....

Day 4 in LA....July 2012

Howdy! Hope this isn't a pattern....writing day 4 a day late....sorry! Shea and I went to the bank yesterday to close out her Coogan Acct. now that she is 18. I then stayed in the downtown area ~ while Shea went to her hair appt. w/ Marcie. I just walked up and down the street ~ checking out all the cute shops. Then went to Trader Joe's and bought a few things we needed. I walked back to the apartment ~ which I think is really cool we are so close. When Shea went online to sign up for her classes yesterday ~ it said that she needed to see a counselor before she could sign up. (Which of course, Chris and I had told her.....but, you KNOW....STUBBORN...ha!) So, we are going to PCC early on Monday morning to meet with a counselor and sign up for her fall semester. Chris got back from SD around 6pm last night ~ Shea went to a party with friends and spent the night with Sloane at Oakwood....Chris and I hung out at the apt. and watched the opening ceremonies of the Olympics. OK....I will write later about today's activities.....til then.....

Day 3....in LA....July 2012

Hello all....sorry writing this a day late.....LONG day yesterday! Shea and I made a trip to Ikea....that place is like going to another world....huge....lots of people... kinda overwhelming....anyway....we got what we needed there....then went on to Target for a few more items we needed....the computer was not charged last night...so, I couldn't write this. I wanted to give you Shea's address for the next year. 1212 Valderas Dr. Apt. # 26 Glendale, CA 91208. Shea gets to sign up for her classes this afternoon for fall semester at PCC. I saw on the news that people that are out here walking their dogs....are carrying baseball bats with them...to protect them from attacking coyotes ~ Ugh! Chris is driving back from San Diego today...he will stay with us until Sunday morning....then he has to leave and drive to Las Vegas for business. I am thoroughly enjoying the gorgeous weather here....50's in the am...70's all day. Til tomorrow.....

Day 2 in LA.....July 25th 2012.....

Hello bloggers! Well, here I am once again writing the blog of Shea's adventures here in LA....this is our 5th time here.....Shea and her dad arrived on Monday ~ the 23rd ~ Gracie and I arrived yesterday.....we are not staying at Oakwood now....we are in a one-bedroom in Glendale. It's a cute apartment! Shea's only concern was getting all her posters up on the walls....not unpacking the dishes, etc. ha! Kids?! Glendale has a darling little downtown area really close by ~ with restaurants, shops, etc. And every Sunday, they shut the main street down....and there is a Farmer's Market. We are officially all unpacked.....we still need to make an Ikea/Target run tomorrow for odds and ends...but, other than that we are settled in. This area is not as busy as the Burbank area we have lived in the past two years. Much more of a homey feeling here. It feels very safe ~ which is very reassuring to Chris and I. Shea just left to go see friends at Oakwood....Chris and I are grilling out here. He has to leave tomorrow to go to meetings in Orange County and then San Diego. He will be back on Friday....and stay with us til Sunday morning. Jamie sent Shea a list of acting instructors she likes....she wants Shea to audit some of them first....then decide which teacher she wants to study with. Not much more report....til tomorrow.....

Day 108 in Van Buren, Arkansas.....May 2012

On the road again.......we left New Mexico this morning around 8:30....had a good day of travel...we stopped tonight at 8:30 pm in Van Buren, Arkansas for the night. Feels good to be out of that car! Gracie has been such a trooper this trip....she just naps in the car....and knows when we stop ~ she will get some water ~ and get to do her business ~ poor thing tho....when we walk back to the car....she digs her paws in the dirt....like "NO please ~ NOT the car AGAIN?!" ha! So, it's hit the shower and then the hay....and get up tomorrow for our drive HOME! ~ Yahoo! We have about a 10 hour drive to get home....we praise God for these safe travels....and for the incredible journey and experience Shea and I have been blessed with over these past 20 months! And I know this journey is only beginning for Shea...I will keep you posted about any big news with Shea on this blog....she is going to take a break for a bit now though...she will be doing some auditioning in Atlanta.......and will be returning to LA the end of July. So instead of "Til tomorrow"....I will say "Til I write again....."

Day 107 in Albuquerque, New Mexico...May 2012

Howdy....all bloggers! Shea and I said all our "good-byes" last night at Oakwood. We took all our food over to Margot....I did speak with Helen from the Dept. of Aging....and she said she would call the case worker again ~ to try to get her out to Margot soon! Shea and I hit the trail around 7 am today. We stopped near Flagstaff, Arizona ~ and drove 100 miles out of our way ~ so we could go to the Grand Canyon ~ neither one of us had been there before! It truly is amazing! Shea did most of the driving today....she did a super job! We are now in our hotel for the night in Albuquerque! We drove over 900 miles today! Nite! Til tomorrow.....

Day 106 in LA.....May 2012

Hello.....and Happy May! Wow....rough day....waiting by the phone! Jamie called and said that Shea did not get the role....Shea was their pick ~ hands down....they loved her....but, this character Summer was on the show as a little girl...and this is her grown up now....and the other girl looks more like Summer did as a little girl. But, they said they want Shea to come in for other things....it's a bummer.....Shea took it so well (I want to cry!) ~ I'm really proud of her! I wanted to let you all know as soon as we knew.....so our plan now is to start our drive home tomorrow morning....it should take us four days....Oh boy...."Happy Trails".....ha!

Howdy....ok last day in April...Shea had her chemistry read this afternoon for the recurring role ~ Summer ~ for Young and the Restless. There were six girls there for the read. It was narrowed down to two....Shea being one of them! Very exciting! No word tonight....we should definitely know tomorrow....til then.....

Hello.....ok....Shea and I were absolute S L U G S today! ha! Major "Couch Potatoes" ~ just watched the tube all day...got a few pix from Chris today...he is in the Virgin Islands on his boating/fishing trip with the boys. Hi! I needed to run some errands today....get some supplies.....like paper plates, cups, etc. (Dishes in storage) Our towels are all packed ~ so ran to Marshall's and bought a few for us. Then Ralph's for some groceries...food for the next few days....other than that it was an R & R day for Shea and I. Til tomorrow.....

Day 102 in LA.....April 2012

Howdy! Harrison took one look at the huge pile of stuff we were planning on leaving at his place for several months and said Ms. Liz....I don't think this will fit! And he was right! So, called and found a storage place that I could take it all to. Since we have outfitted a kitchen now and bought linens, etc. ~ we have accumulated quite a bit! Shea had her Callback for the "Young and the Restless" this afternoon....she felt great about it...the director gave her some redirection ~ which is always a good sign Shea says! :) Afterwards, we dropped off some clothing at Good Will....then took our carload of "stuff" to the Public Storage Unit. They called late today to say that they wanted Shea in on Monday afternoon for a chemistry read for the recurring role on "The Young and the Restless." Shea is thrilled and I'm so excited for her! But, seriously....all our clothes are in suitcases! ha! Soooo, no we are not leaving tomorrow morning now....I ran up the office to make sure we could stay in our apartment ~ as they knew we were leaving tom. morning. Not exactly sure when we will be leaving now.....it's out of my hands......and in God's! But, you know I will keep you posted.....til tomorrow.....

Day 101 in LA.....April 2012

Hello....I spent most of the day cleaning out cabinets and drawers and packing....Shea went to the Pasadena City College and took the Competency Tests...we pretty much are all packed up (except for hanging clothes)....and don't you know....Callback! Happens EVERY time! The Callback is for the recurring role on "The Young and the Restless." Shea will be reading with the woman that will play her mother on the show. It's wonderful....just that we had planned to be driving out early Saturday morning. I called Jamie....she said go ahead and go to the Callback...she will call casting tomorrow and see if they will give her any idea at all when they will be deciding on this role. Soooo, not exactly sure what our plans are now...? Ha! I heard from the editor of the Entertainment Weekly magazine and she said that it will hit the stands on May 11th ~ this will have the article (8-9 page spread) that Shea was interviewed and photographed for. Til tomorrow.....

Day 100 in LA.....April 2012

Wow ~ 100 days....it's been fun....but, ready to get home! I took Gracie in to the doggie beauty parlor...Shea did her schoolwork....I called Helen at the Dept. of Aging to ask why they hadn't been out yet to see Margot? Had to leave a message....bought a few things for Margot today....Shea and I had the very special treat of each having a massage this afternoon. It was Shea's first one...she was a little nervous...but, as I expected fell IN LOVE with the idea of a weekly massage! ha! Don't think Dad is going to go for that Miss Shea! We met Tori tonight for dinner....this is a friend of Shea's....they want to be roommates next year. I had not met her...but, what a blessing she is....she is almost a full year older than Shea....very grounded and a hard worker....has two jobs now..plus does modeling....attends a Christian Bible Study every Tuesday night and church on Sunday. I KNOW this is no coincidence ~ God is so good! :) Shea is going to the Pasadena City College tomorrow morning to take the competency tests she needs to take before they will let her register for her fall classes. Oh, heard from Alex ~ Atlanta agent ~ and Shea is scheduled to meet with the director and producers for her callback next Wed. ~ May 2nd in Atlanta. Soooo......we are leaving for home a few days earlier than originally planned....so, Mom has been busy packing. We will be driving out this Saturday morning...April 28th. Til tomorrow.....

Hello......enjoyed Bible Study this morning....was tough to say "bye" to all those sweet ladies! That group has been a real blessing to me! I started packing up the kitchen ~ cabinets and drawers today. Finally, the new GIA site is up ~ Go to gia.glimmertv.com ~ to see the special finale to GIA ~ as well as behind the scenes footage and interviews of cast members, photos, etc. Shea got an audition from Atlanta today ~ for a guest starring role on the show "Homeland." Hi! Shea received a Callback today from People Store in Atlanta. It's for a movie being filmed in Atlanta this summer. Shea read for two different roles for this film. Only hitch is....we had planned on starting our drive home next Monday ~ April 30th...but, the Director and Producers want to see Shea on May 2nd. Alex(People Store) is going to see if Shea could meet with the Dir. later in the week? If not, we will need to leave a few days earlier..probably on Saturday ~ April 28th. So, I'm trying to getting things taken care of ~ so we can leave. You KNOW we will get all packed in the car for our drive home....and ring-a-ling...call from Jamie....we need Shea! ha! Don't forget to watch the finale of the third episode of G.I.A. tomorrow on glimmer.tv. I'm actually not quite sure what site we are to go to ~ to see it? Howdy....writing for yesterday and today....Shea hung out with friends and I went to Citadel Shopping Center for the afternoon yesterday. I spent today going thru drawers, etc. cleaning things out....so, when I pack this week ~ I won't be packing junk! I found out that the article that Shea was interviewed and photographed for in the Entertainment Weekly magazine ~ will be published the beginning of to mid-May. It's going to be interesting to see and read the article....you never know how things will be edited? Shea said she did try to get some dirt from her about certain people here at Oakwood...but, Shea wouldn't...she kept it positive. We will see? Til tomorrow.....

Day 94 and 95 in LA.....April 2012

Hello...didn't write blog yesterday...so, writing for two days...Shea had her audition yesterday for a recurring role on "Young and the Restless" ~ as always Shea had a great time...we went to the Grove afterwards to just walk around ~ it was such a gorgeous day....Chris had to fly home today....he left early this morning. :( Shea did her schoolwork while I cleaned up the apartment. I went back to the doctor for a recheck. I am getting better...still a little dizzy....but, not as bad as before....she said she believes I may have this going on for several more weeks. Margot (my neighbor) needed me to pick up some meds. and a few groceries for her. Shea is out with friends tonight ~ dinner and a movie....so it's Gracie and I this evening...I have a movie to watch ~ Mission Impossible ~ Tom Cruise's newest film. Til tomorrow.....

Hello.....and Happy Birthday to our dear sweet Lindsay! I miss you always Linds....but, a little more on our b-day...you were a precious gift....then and forever! I'm so glad Chris is here with us today. We went and toured Glendale Community College today....Shea had an audition this afternoon for a lead role in a feature film. We went to the Americana after her audition. We went and saw "21 Jump Street" ~ very funny! Then in honor of our Linds ~ who LOVED cheesecake ~ we had dinner at the "Cheesecake Factory." :) Shea has another audition tomorrow for a recurring role on "The Young and the Restless." Day 92 in LA.....April 2012

Howdy! Gorgeous day here today ~ up to 93 degrees. I forgot to tell you all yesterday about surprising Shea for her birthday ~ with her best friend Jessica from home. We flew her into the John Wayne airport there in Newport Beach for the weekend! Needless to say, Shea was absolutely thrilled! I called the Dept. of Aging today for Margot ~ (my elderly lady friend here) ~ and explained the situation to a lady there. She told me they will be sending someone out to access what Margot's needs are. Then they will set her up with a home caregiver ~ who will come in to check on her 2-3 times a week ~ picking up meds. for her and groceries. She is also going to be put on a list to start receiving hot and healthy meals delivered by Meals on Wheels. I am so very thankful that she is going to start getting the help she needs. Since we will be leaving and heading home soon....now, I won't worry about Margot! PTL! News on G.I.A. ~ the 3rd episode aired yesterday. Days 88, 89, 90 and 91 in LA.....April 2012

Hello....we returned to Oakwood today after four terrific days away in Huntington Beach ~ so am writing for those days....Chris met us at H.B. Friday afternoon. Sloane and Lindsey drove down with Shea and I (and Gracie). We had two separate suites ~ Harrison drove down Sat. night. Chris and I had a very relaxing and romantic anniversary celebration! Shea had a fabulous 18th Bday! The 3rd episode of G.I.A. aired today ~ if you haven't seen it ~ be sure to check it out!
Chris took this week off....so, he is with us now in Burbank. :) We got exciting news from Christopher (our son) today. He was promoted to a position in Corporate of Fresh Market working in Operations. They will be moving him to Greensboro, NC in the next three weeks. He is sooo excited to be given this opportunity. Very proud and happy for him! Til tomorrow.....

Hi! I got the steroid pack and started it today. While Shea did her schoolwork I got the car washed...and gave Gracie a bath. I have never done a spray tan....nor has Shea....but, we were sooo pale....so, we went today and had it done. We look like we've been at the beach all summer! ha! We are packing up tonight for our beach get-away. Sooo excited! Jamie (Shea's manager) is putting together a reel of Shea's work on screen ~ that she will be able to send to casting directors, etc. Ok....well, we are leaving here in the morning for Huntington Beach. Going to take a break from writing the blog while we are away the next few days. Til tomorrow.....

Day 86 in LA.....April 2012

Howdy! I had a hair appt. with Marcie today for a color and cut.....then from there went to my doctor's appt. She was hoping that the dizziness would completely be gone....(she's seen four more cases of this in just this past week)...so, she prescribed a steroid that she believes will get rid of the swelling in my inner ear. If not, I will go back and see her in a week. It is a little better ~ so, I really do believe this will take care of it! PTL! Shea worked on all her classwork while I was gone today. Then we both went and had mani's and pedi's done. She just left to go to the Zumba Class again. I have laundry I need to do. Then tomorrow we will pack up for our four day getaway to Huntington Beach ~ Friday thru Monday. Chris is in Las Vegas now and will drive over to H. Beach Friday morning and meet us there. Chris and I will be celebrating our 28th anniversary on April 14th....and Shea's 18th BDay is the 15th! Shea is taking friends, Sloane and Lindsey. They have their own suite to enjoy! Hey.......Shea did her schoolwork while I went to my Bible Study. We had a wonderful lesson....and time of fellowship. Then I went shopping for Margot afterwards. Shea and I went to a Zumba (dance and exercise) Class tonight. Whipped my bootie! Ha! I just ordered Shea's
Graduation announcements....just can NOT believe my baby is graduating! I have a hair appt. in the morning for a color and cut. Then going to see the doctor about my Vertigo in the afternoon.

Hi! Shea put in a double-duty day on her schoolwork today. Gracie and I went on a long walk. The second episode of G.I.A. debuted today....go to blip.tv.tischwest to view! I am going shopping for Margot tomorrow after Bible Study. Oakwood is not going to get involved with Margot by calling any services that could help her. So, I talked to Margot and asked her if it would be alright with her if I phoned them? ~ the Dept. of the Aging. I told her I am concerned for her and I will be leaving soon and no one will be able to shop for her and walk Robinson. She told me it is alright for me to make the call. So, I will be doing that. Shea went to a Zumba (dance/exercise) Class tonight and loved it. I'm going to go with her tomorrow night! Til then.....

Hello.....and I hope you had a Blessed Easter! Shea and I went to Castaways for a special brunch. It was very nice and we had a great time, although we probably ate more than we should have! We went to church this evening. It was a beautiful, spirit-filled service. Hello.....really didn't have have any news-worthy info for yesterday.....so, am once again writing for two days. I finished a book today. Secrets and Lies ~ by Mark Phillips. A wonderful book! It's about Mark's personal journey into finding the "truth!" Which he finally found ~ "Jesus!" Mark's wife ~ Angela is our Bible Study leader. Shea hung out at the pool on this gorgeous day with Harrison and Sloane. They are now at the movies seeing "Titantic" 3-D. I have a rented movie to watch ~ Tower Heist. Shea and I are going to be spending all day tomorrow together ~ which I am very much looking forward to! We have reservations for an Easter Brunch at Castaways. It's a lovely restaurant up in the hills overlooking LA. We are going to church tomorrow night! I hate that Chris and Christopher will not be with us tomorrow. I am thrilled that Chris will be here this coming Friday ~ for a WEEK! :) I pray each of you have a Blessed Easter! Til tomorrow.....

Days 79 and 80 in LA.....April 2012

Hello.....writing for two days....yesterday I went to see the doctor due to my dizziness. The Dr. diagnosed me with Vestibulitis. It is a virus. An infection in my inner ear. It has to run it's course....which she said would be around 10 days. She told me to take Aleve for the swelling....and dramamine for the nausea. I go back in a week. If I'm not better then ~ she will order a CatScan. But, I'm sure I will be fine! Today was the Photo Shoot for the Entertainment Weekly article. We were to meet Richard (EW Dir. of Photography) in the North Club House around 1pm. They had Kraft Services lunch brought in for everyone. Then it was make-up, lights....and SHOOT! :) They took individual shots of Shea....then some of both Shea and me. There were four other children in the shoot. So, they did the same with each child...individual shots...then pictures with their families. Then they took pix of all the kids together all over the Oakwood grounds. Harrison was one of the kids in this shoot also. They took a lot of pix of Shea and Harrison together. Richard said that this article will be an eight page spread ~ published in the Entertainment Weekly magazine ~ in 3 to 4 weeks. I will let you know exactly when it will be out in stands. Day 78 in LA.....April 2012

Hi! Well, today has been an exciting day with the premiere of G.I.A. ~ 1st episode! Hope you all have had a chance to check it out! If not, just go to blip.tv.tischwest ~ you will see GIA, then you can view it! Shea is so thrilled and so very thankful for this incredible opportunity! Shea "tried" to do her schoolwork today....but, with messages coming in from facebook, textes, emails and phone calls...(Shea was feeling the love!)...school was a bit difficult today! The second episode will air next Tuesday ~ April 10th ~ and the third one will air on Tuesday ~ April 17th! Please share this with your family and friends. Mark Rosman, the director, has two goals for the future of G.I.A. One is to be a regular web series show on a new glimmertv.com channel that is for young girls only. The other goal would be that he pitches this pilot to different networks for television. I believe we NEED more shows like this on the tv! Shea is at an acting class tonight ~ working with Fern Champion (a casting director). I have been super dizzy, grabbing the chair or wall, room spinning kind of thing and suffering from nausea....the past four days...(Good Times! Ha!)...I "think" it might be Vertigo? Happy April everyone! We had a pretty relaxing day. Then got ready to go to Santa Monica to the director's house to see the screening of the first 3 episodes of "G.I.A." I think it is fantastic! Of course....this IS a Mom talking! :) The gentleman that did the editing told me that he has seen many Web series....and had never seen one that was this professional....like he was editing a tv show. It was fun to see everyone again ~ the cast and crew. It really is a cute show ~ can't wait for you all to see it! You will have your first opportunity to see episode 1 on Tuesday ~ April 3rd. Day 75 in LA.....March 2012

Hello.....wow...last day in March....I am feeling better! My day was made when G.I.A. Director Mark Rosman wrote and said that I was invited to go to the screening tomorrow night at his house of the first three episodes of G.I.A.! I am sooo excited! I told Shea and she said, "Now Mom don't act like you know me......I might look over at you at some point....but, we won't be together." Ahhh.....the love....so moving.....N O T! ha! I'm just so thrilled I get to go!
And then we got really BIG news tonight ~ "G.I.A. ~ Girl's Intelligence Agency" has been selected by an industry judging panel as one out of five winners at the 2012 NYU Tisch Web Series Showcase.
They are being screened at a Launch Party Monday night ~ April 2nd ~ 7:00 - 12:30 am here in LA. The ranking, first thru fifth of the winners, will be announced at the Launch Party. Shea and I and two of her friends are going. Again, VERY excited! Til tomorrow.....

Day 74 in LA.....March 2012

Howdy! I laid low today.....just resting....and I do feel better this evening. Shea left really early this morning with Harrison to go and work the check-in table for the Kid's Choice Awards gifting suites. Needless to say....Shea had an incredibly fun and exciting day! She got to meet and talk with all the stars from all the Disney shows. They even let her walk thru the gift suite that the celebs got to go to ~ and Shea came home with all kinds of wonderful goodies! Chosen vendors from different markets ~ jewelry, make-up, food, novelty items, etc. bring their products to the gifting suites and give their items away to the celebrities. They, of course want the celebs wearing or using their products ~ as it's incredible advertisement for them! The Director of photography from Entertainment Weekly got in touch with us today to say that he would be here at Oakwood this coming Thursday for the photo shoot. Then the article will be printed that Karen interviewed Shea and Harrison for a few weeks ago for Entertainment Weekly. Til tomorrow.....

Hello....I am not feeling well....(fever, achy, ugh!)....so, I laid low today. Shea did her schoolwork....then had a hair appt. this afternoon for a color and cut. Hello! As always really enjoyed being with the ladies today for our Bible Study and potluck meal together afterwards. Then I went and got my nails done. Shea did her schoolwork. We taped and sent the audition for "Plus One" ~ to Atlanta this evening. Shea has a hair appt. with Marcie tomorrow afternoon for a color and cut. Harrison's mother Sharon works various awards shows....in charge of certain talent for that show....making sure they have what they need, etc.
She has invited Shea to go with Harrison this Friday to work as a check-in person for the "Kid's Choice Awards." She is sooo psyched! She will be meeting and talking with many, many celebs! As the talent arrives....they have to check-in and find out where they will be sitting, restrooms, the lounge area, etc. This is what Shea and Harrison will be doing. Til tomorrow.....

Hi! I made my sausage/egg casserole today to take to Bible Study tomorrow. We are having our study....then everyone is bringing a dish to share afterwards. Shea and I went to see "Friends with Kids" tonight. It was funny.....not as funny as we thought it was going to be...but, it is good. Shea has an audition we have to tape and send to Atlanta. hello.....still was a bit wet here today. Looks like we will have sunshine again tomorrow! Shea had a dermatologist appt. this morning. I went and did some grocery shopping for us and Margot ~ while Shea did her schoolwork. I went up to the office to see if I could talk to the woman I spoke with last week about Margot and her situation ~ but, she wasn't in today. I will try again this week. Til tomorrow.....

Hello and Happy Sunday! Didn't want to take up any time while Chris was here with writing the blog.....so, once again writing for several days....this past Friday, Saturday and today. We did go to see "Hunger Games" at 12:05 am Thurs. night. It was fun all going together to see it opening night ~ BUT, I was really disappointed with the movie. Movie only covered like 10% of what was in book....soooo much missing! Oh well! We were in bed by 4 am! Ha! Shea did her schoolwork on Friday....Chris and I went out for brunch and to buy an iron. Shea and her posse went to a Sweet 16 party for a friend ~ Hunter ~ Fri. evening. This mother rented out an entire nightclub on Sunset Blvd. for the party. Hunter made FOUR dress changes! Shea said it was like one of those parties they show on MTV about the over the top sweet 16 parties! :) Saturday ~ Chris and I and Shea and Harrison all went out for lunch....then drove to the Citadel Shopping Center to walk around and enjoy the pretty day. Shea and her friends AGAIN had another Sweet 16 bday party to attend ~ this time for Chelsey. This celebration being more normal Shea said! Chris and I stayed in and watched a movie. If you all have not seen "Courageous" ~ it's a must see! Sunday ~ sad today....just got back from taking Chris to LAX. :( Shea is still snoozing.
She has a workshop this afternoon here at Oakwood with a casting director. It is raining here today. Looks like a laundry day for me. Til tomorrow.....

Hey! Beautiful, sunny day here in LA today! Shea had her callback for the Cottonelle Commercial this afternoon ~ she felt great about it! Chris got here around 4:30 ~ Y A H O O!!! We saw her new MSN commercial that is now on the web. If you type in MSN ~ Honey Badger ~ and go down the list til you see that title ~ you can play it. :) Shea's scene is the first one on the commercial. Shea and Harrison are already in the line (it's 6:15pm) for our Hunger Game movie seats tonight at midnight! Crazy, huh?! So, the 8 of us can all sit together! Hello! I went shopping for Margot today while Shea did her schoolwork. Then Gracie and I went on a walk. Shea had an audition this afternoon....she had a blast reading for this role. It's for a new show ~ "Greetings from Home." Great news ~ Shea has a Callback tomorrow for a Cottonelle Commercial. A few friends have told Shea they have seen her in her new MSN commercial on the web. :) So excited ~ Chris will be here tomorrow afternoon! We bought tickets to see the new movie "Hunger Games." Our show is at 12:15 am! Hope I stay awake! ha! I read the three books ~ so, I am looking forward to seeing the film! Til tomorrow.....

Hi! Shea got a cool call last night. They called from the "Tick Tock" film production to ask Shea to come in today to read for the Director and Writer of the movie. The role of the girl "Justine Bieber" has now been changed to a boy "Justin Beiber" look-alike. She read for the role of a teenager tonight at 5:30pm. She felt great about it! I went to my Bible Study group this morning....Shea did her schoolwork. Shea has an audition tomorrow for a lead role in a new show ~ "Greetings from Home." Hello.....pretty slow, ordinary day here for us in LA. I did go speak to someone in the office about poor Margot. They are going to look at her records and see if there is anyone they can get in contact with ~ and then discuss a care facility. Shea is in the gym working out right now. I'm looking forward to watching "Dancing with the Stars." Shea does have an audition for Wed. for a lead role on a new show ~ "Greetings from Home." Going to my Bible study in the morning.

Day 62 in LA.....March 2012

Hi! Beautiful day here today....Harriet Greenspan...very well-known casting director from Nikelodeon was here at Oakwood today.....Shea has auditioned for her before. She went up to the clubhouse to say hi to her and give her a headshot. Poor Margot(the older woman who lives here in our building) is not doing well at all. I've been walking Robinson(dog) for her....she needed meds. today....so went and got those for her. I think I need to talk to someone at the office about this situation and see if there is anything that can be done to help her. Chris is taking vacation time the week of our anniversary and Shea's 18th b-day! We were wanting to all get away for a few days to celebrate. So, we drove to Malibu today in search of a hotel/motel....with no success....but, we found a lovely Hilton in Huntington Beach. There is lots to do there...and Newport Beach and Laguna Beach are close by....so we will be sure to go and check out those areas too! Til tomorrow.....

Day 61 in LA.....March 2012

Hi! Shea and I and two of her friends, Harrison and Sloane, went to dinner last night. Then to see the play "Bergeracky." A daughter of one of the mom's in my bible study was starring in this production ~ so we wanted to go and support her. Kailey did an incredible job! It has been raining all day here today ~ which is really pretty rare for LA. Shea doubled up on her schoolwork today ~ because she wasn't able to do any on Thursday or Friday. Chris worked with the "Habitat for Humanity" today in Atlanta....they put up all the sides and the roof on the house today. I ran up and rented a couple of movies from the Red Box. Other than watching those ~ I have had the sheer delight of doing laundry! Really miss Chris! :( He will be here this coming Thursday evening ~ can't wait! Til tomorrow.....

Hello and "Happy Friday!" Shea had an exciting day. Her calltime today to be at the studio for the G.I.A. photo shoot was 9:30 am. She had hair and make-up....then the picture taking began!
They did the interview with all three of the G.I.A. girls. Mark Rosman, the director asked all the questions...Shea had a blast! The Director has invited everyone to his house on April 1st to preview the first three episodes. Can't wait to see them! They will be available for you to see on April 3rd on BlipTV-Web. I will give you more information later on how to find it on your computer. Karen Valby, the Senior Editor of Entertainment Weekly got back in touch with Shea and Harrison and told them that they are going to do the article on them about life here at Oakwood pursing acting. She is sending out a photographer soon to take pictures of them for the article.

Day 59 in LA.....March 2012

Hello! Ok...."Momager" here has been super busy today! LOVE, love, LOVE it when things pick up!
Started off the day with an audition from Jamie for a film. She was to dress and look like "Justin Bieber." Wish I could put up a picture to show you all....it was funny! Anyway, she went to the audition....casting loved her and sent her immediately to the producers! On the way to see them....casting called to say that the producers were quitting for the day. We talked to Jamie....she said she would put a call into them and find out what they wanted Shea to do. So, Shea came back and got ready for the other two auditions she had today! The 2nd audition was for a Verizon commercial....she had to cry on cue...it's about a daughter moving away from home. From there we went to the 3rd audition. It's for a guest star role on iCarly on Nickelodeon. Shea had a great time and felt good about them! Jamie called and said that from the time casting had sent Shea to the producers....(before they told casting) the producers had decided that they would just ask the real Justin Bieber to play the role in the film. They aren't sure they can afford him? If not, and they go back to the drawing board....casting said they would call Shea in again. Shea has a photo shoot and interviews for G.I.A. all day tomorrow. A young man that lived here at Oakwood when he was young (pursuing acting) is coming to speak tonight. He is a filmmaker. He is going to share his story and some of his work so far. Day 58 in LA.....March 2012

Hi! Shea and Harrison left early this morning ~ 6:30 am ~ to head to Big Bear. They went snowboarding all day. They have had a blast ~ and are on their way home now! Hi! I again enjoyed going to my Bible Study this morning. This group is such a blessing to me. Shea had her audition this afternoon for the commercial. She felt great about it! We grabbed a bite to eat....then she and Sloane went to the premiere of her friend's webisode. Shea and Harrison are driving to Big Bear tomorrow to go snowboarding for the day. I am going to the SAG headquarters tomorrow afternoon to go to a 2 and 1/2 hour informational meeting. Til tomorrow.....

Hello....Shea doubled up on her schoolwork today. Gracie and I went on a long walk. Got all the laundry done....and got groceries for Margot and us. Shea has an audition tomorrow afternoon for a commercial. She's going to a friend's premiere tomorrow night for a webisode she is starring in. I have Bible Study in the morning....til tomorrow.....

Day 55 in LA.....March 2012

Hi! LOVE the autumn when we get to FALL back and get an extra hour of sleep....this S P R I N G forward thing and losing an hour of sleep...UGH! I had the TV on early this morning (10am) to watch the Seminoles play against NC in the ACC Championship playoff game ~ and we WON ~ Go Noles! Then Shea and I drove to downtown LA and met Erin and her boyfriend for lunch. I had met Erin before and it was great to see her again. They are a cute couple. It was fun to catch up on all that is going on in her life now....and Shea shared what has been going on in hers. Shea is at Church and Youth Group tonight. I just watched "Hugo." I'm getting ready to go over to my older friend ~ Margot's apt. She really is not doing well...it's her back...she's in a lot of pain. I'm going to get Robinson (her dog) and walk him. Take her garbage out....and get her grocery list for this week. I'm concerned though....I truly do not mind helping her...but, I am feeling that she might need more assistance ~ like "Assisted Living." It's so sad ~ she has no family at all. On a happy note ~ be sure to watch Lab Rats ~ Disney XD tomorrow night ~ here it's on at 8:30pm. My friend's son and Shea's friend ~ Garrett Backstrom ~ is guest starring on this episode! Day 54 in LA.....March 2012

Hello....ok....wrote the last 2 days as day 52 ~ oops! Yesterday should have been Day 53...sooo, today is Day 54! :) Shea spent the night at Sloane's and slept in really late. Gracie and I went on a long walk this morning....then I went to the gym. Shea was in the apartment for maybe an hour...only long enough to shower and change...and back out the door! This time with Harrison. They went to the Grove....walked around and saw a movie. I ran to CVS to pick up a prescription...then went to the RED BOX ~ and rented two movies ~ "Jack and Jill" and "Hugo." Chris and I skyped tonight! It was wonderful to see my hubby on the computer screen! Shea and I are meeting Erin for lunch tomorrow. Erin is a daughter of a friend of mine, who is living out here now. She lives in Long Beach...so we are going to find a place between there and Burbank. Til tomorrow.....

Happy Friday! I got up early and took the car in to have two more new tires put on. Then I went to Lowe's to look at carpet samples for home. And made a return at the mall. Shea was at the apartment doing her schoolwork. They featured Shea's character "Alex" today on the facebook page. Shea is having dinner with a bunch of her friends tonight ~ then spending the night at Sloane's. Just reading my book....til tomorrow.....

Hello....really another day today like yesterday. Shea did her schoolwork....I worked out and did laundry....and sat by the pool and read my book. I "blinged" a few more bras this afternoon. I'm taking the car in tomorrow morning to have two new tires put on. Til tomorrow.....

Praise the Lord.....woke up this morning with NO headache! I did still have the knot under my shoulder blade. So, I went to the gym to stretch and work out a bit to see if that would loosen it up....and it did! :) I did that.....and laundry....and grocery shopping while Shea did her schoolwork. The producers of the G.I.A. series put up a facebook page today about the series. Day 49 and 50 in LA.....March 2012

Hello bloggers! As you can see I'm again writing for yesterday and today....Monday ~ Shea had an audition for a guest role for a new pilot. Unfortunately...this is the FOURTH day of having a headache! :( And along with that ~ a stiff neck....and now a big knot in my upper back. Tuesday ~ I went to Bible Study this morning...didn't want to miss even though I wasn't feeling great. They told me to go get a massage ~ which I did this afternoon. Angela told me to take a tylenol pm and a little benadryl and get a good "deep sleep." I've promised them that if I am not better tomorrow I will go see a doctor. Night! Til tomorrow.....

Day 47 and 48 in LA.....March 2012

Hey ~ ok, once again writing about 2 days....Saturday- it was really an R&R day....stayed in my jammies til noon! :) Nice to have one of those days! I went to dinner with Shea and five of her friends....then did a little shopping at Michael's and Marshall's. Sunday - Shea hung with friends by the pool and watching movies....I cleaned the apartment...I got out to enjoy the gorgeous (80 degrees and sunny!) weather....sat by the pool and read my book....Shea has an audition tomorrow for a guest role in a new pilot. We do plan on celebrating Shea's high school graduation in May. I've told my family we will have a party on May 26th. Because of family coming from out of town....it has to be a Saturday...for their travel time. Of course, I still do not know "when" we will be home....but, will probably have a clearer picture of that by mid-April. And then will let everyone know! Til tomorrow.....

Day 46.....in LA.....March 2012

It was "early to rise - 6:45" this morning. Shea's calltime for today's shoot ~ of the MSN Commercial was 8 am. Then it was sit and wait...and wait....she finally went into make-up and hair around 10am. After they wrapped the shoot....Shea had lunch with the crew she worked with. She had a wonderful experience on this project. Shea and I wanted to do a little shopping this afternoon. We wanted to find a neat second-hand store. It was a process....the first one we went to had designer suits, dresses....old nostalgic t-shirts priced WAY out of our budget ~ t-shirts priced $200-$300 dollars! I'm NOT kidding?! So on to the next store....it was scary...ha! OLD, OLD weird clothes! Ugh....this isn't going well? One more try....we went to the "Buffalo Exchange" ~ hit the jackpot! :) A store filled with all kinds of goodies! Shea and I both found some cute things. Shea is with friends tonight....Gracie and I are just hanging out in the apartment tonight relaxing. Til tomorrow.....

Day 45 in LA.....March 1st

Wow ~ already March! Shea had her wardrobe appt. this afternoon in Santa Monica. She didn't want me to go in with her....needing her space - growing up! :( So, I went into a Ralph's grocery store just down the road while they worked with her on her wardrobe for this shoot. There was a Coffee Bean in the store ~ I ordered some hot tea ~ asked for some honey....it was in those long straws...you bite off the end and squeeze it in....well.....on one of my attempts on squeezing....I hit the cup....and boiling hot tea goes a flying....ALL over me....all over the store! :( Sooo embarrassed! They came running out from behind the counter screaming..."Are you burnt? Are you hurt?" I was fine....only completely humiliated! We were back to the apt. around 4:30pm. I made a salad...and cut up some pizza toppings....and we headed over to Sharon's. We made individual pizzas ~ ate those and watched "Bridesmaids." Hilarious! Her machine did not tape the Dr. Phil episode we attended. Oh well? Shea's calltime for the MSN Commercial shootis 8am tomorrow. They are filming in a Pub here in Hollywood ~ so it isn't far away. Day 44 in LA.....February 2012

Hello.....well, the day started out a little rough....no hot water in our building...so NO shower.
I called and they sent someone over to fix....alas....and a nice hot shower! :) Shea had to double up on her schoolwork today ~ because she couldn't do any yesterday. I ran errands. Jamie called to tell us that Shea did BOOK the MSN Commercial! PTL! She has wardrobe tomorrow afternoon in Santa Monica. We aren't sure of the shoot times for Friday yet. Shea is excited! Sharon has invited us over tomorrow night for dinner ~ and to watch our Dr. Phil episode. Til tomorrow.....

Day 43 in LA.....February 2012

Howdy! Shea went to her 1st audition this morning for the guest role on the show "Awkward." Then from there we went to her Callback for the MSN commercial. We drove to Santa Monica for her 2nd audition ~ this one for a lead role in a new pilot. She felt great about all of them! We did NOT want to get on the 405 at 4 pm ~ T E R R I B L E, CRAZY traffic! Soooo, we went to the Promenade Shopping Area in Santa Monica. We both needed some make-up items ~ so we hit Sephora!
Then grabbed some dinner....and headed home. Jamie just called and Shea is "On Avail" for the MSN Commercial. Yahoo! Shea will be doubling up on her schoolwork tomorrow since she couldn't do any today. Til tomorrow.....

Day 42 in LA.....February 2012

Hi! Ok ~ first of all I told you the episode we attended of Dr. Phil ~ is on this Thursday ~ Feb. 1st....all of that is correct ~ except Ha! ~ It's March 1st! The show is about Toni Braxton and her mother and sisters and getting along. Shea has a busy day for tomorrow....an audition for a guest starring role on a show....and CALLBACK for the MSN Commercial! Then another audition later in the day for a lead role in a new pilot. She is psyched! Shea's friend Sloane is appearing as a guest star on Body of Proof Tuesday night at 10 pm. Til tomorrow.....

Beautiful day here in LA.....Gracie got a bath....invited Sharon and Harrison and Hanna over to watch the Oscars with us. We each made some appetizers....and sat and watched the red carpet and the awards show. I found out that the episode I went to see Dr. Phil will be aired this Thursday February 1st. Sharon and I sat right up front. Til tomorrow.....

Day 39 and 40 in LA.....February 2012

Hello....busy with Chris here...so writing yesterday's and today's blog....Friday ~ Chris and I drove down to Marina Del Ray while Shea did her schoolwork. He was in heaven being on the water and seeing ALL the boats! Then we drove to Venice Beach...and walked the boardwalk and saw all the "sights!" Shea got an audition that afternoon for a commercial....so, we drove back to LA...picked up Shea and drove to the audition. Saturday ~ I drove Chris to the Bob Hope airport this morning....always hate to see him leave....but, we had a wonderful few days together! My elderly friend, Margot who lives just down the hall from us in our building ~ stopped by Thursday night saying she needed more groceries. So, I stopped by her apartment and got her grocery list today and went and did the shopping for us both. Karen Valby, a writer for Entertainment Weekly, is doing a story on aspiring actors here at Oakwood and asked Shea if she could interview her for an article. So, Shea and Harrison both met with her for two hours today. Karen is not even sure the article will go to print? If it does, they will be back out to take photos of them. I will let you all know ~ if and when it comes out. Shea and Harrison just left all dressed up to attend a Pre-Oscars party/Red Carpet event. Harrison's mom is working the event and is getting them access. So amazing! So, it's Gracie and me hanging out together this Saturday evening. Shea and I have given up meat for Lent....so, not sure what dinner might be? Oscars tomorrow.....

Day 38 in LA.....February 2012

Howdy! Great news today is I picked Chris up at the airport around 1:30 this afternoon. Poor guy is not feeling well....bad cold....so we are just hanging out at the apartment relaxing...but, still wonderful having him here! Shea got an audition today for next week for a guest role on a show. I think Chris and I are going to drive down to Marina Del Ray for the day tomorrow...while Shea does her schoolwork....til tomorrow.....

Day 37 in LA.....February 2012

Hi! I went and sat by the pool to read my book today....while Shea was doing school...and the laundry was going. And Sophie Grace and Rosie ~ the two absolutely adorable little British girls that are on Ellen all the time ~ were playing and swimming in the pool. I have to say they were just as animated without any camera filming them. Shea came down and had her picture taken with them. I thoroughly enjoyed sitting there watching and listening to them. Just precious! Shea had an audition for "Penoza" ~ a pilot ~ for the role of Natalie this evening in Santa Monica. She felt great about it. But, oh my....the t r a f f i c was TERRIBLE on way home! Ugh! Took forever! But, we are back now enjoying all the super Wednesday night shows! And BESTEST of all ~ Chris will be here tomorrow around 1 pm ~ Yahoo! Til tomorrow.....

Hi! Really enjoyed my time at Bible Study this morning. Shea did her schoolwork....then got ready for her Producers Session this afternoon. This was for the "Malibu Country" Pilot for the role of Sarah. She felt great about it. She has an audition tomorrow for the role of Natalie in "Penoza" ~ The Life. Chris will be here in two days! Hello.....Shea didn't finish up with her GIA shoot until midnight last night. So we were really tired today. Shea had the audition for the "Malibu Country" pilot this afternoon. Things went wonderfully....in fact, they have asked her to return tomorrow at 3pm to meet with all the Producers. PTL! After the audition we stopped at a shopping center. While we were eating at City Wok who walks right by us? Tish and MILEY Cyrus! It's so funny to see Shea after she has seen her! ha! I have Bible Study in the morning. Til tomorrow.....

Day 34 in LA.....February 2012

Hi! The shoot for Shea in the GIA series began in Morina Del Ray today. We had never been there before. They filmed near a harbor. Absolutely gorgeous area! Beautiful boats....even saw sea lions....so cool! For her role today...Shea played a homeless person hanging out in the harbor area ~ doing her spy work. She even had a stunt coordinator there to help her with the stunts she had to do. She absolutely loved that! They are filming some other scenes in a home this evening. I drove Shea down this morning....stayed and took photos of Shea on the set. Then drove home early afternoon. Shea just texted me and said I should be there around 10 pm to pick her up in Santa Monica. Shea has an audition tomorrow afternoon for a lead role in a new Pilot starring Reba McIntyre ~ "Malibu Country." Til tomorrow.....

Day 32 and 33 in LA.....February 2012

Hello.....writing for two days again....Day 32 ~ Friday.....Shea had a rehearsal for the GIA shoot in Santa Monica Friday morning. I had absolutely NUTTIN' to wear to the awards show Fri. evening....so, I was running around the Burbank Mall like a mad woman...running in all the stores to find a dress and shoes. Three hours later....done! Rushed home to get ready and then left for the awards show. It was held at the Shrine Auditorium. The show was wonderful...and we saw so many stars...have to name a few...Louis Gossett Jr.,Cicely Tyson, Cuba Gooding Jr., Diahann Carroll, George Lucas, Sidney Poitier, Harry Belafonte, Jennifer Hudson, Laurence Fishburne, LLCoolJ....and many more....Day 33 ~ Saturday.....Shea had her shoot for GIA today in Santa Monica. Another 12 hour day...she was filmed in a van in a garage all day...so, I didn't go ~ since I wouldn't have been able to watch her. I had loads of fun cleaning the apartment and doing laundry ~ lucky Mom! :) The shoot tomorrow is going to be outside at a harbor area in Santa Monica. Shea will be doing stunts ~ so she has a stunt coordinator to work with. She is sooo excited about doing the stunts! I'm looking forward to watching her on set again tomorrow.....

Day 31 in LA.....February 2012

Howdy! Shea did her schoolwork while I ran some errands. She ended up with three auditions for this afternoon....the first was for a Verizon commercial....next was a voiceover for an animation series....and lastly read for a lead part in a feature film. She has her rehearsal tomorrow for the G.I.A. shooting for this upcoming weekend. My friend, Sharon works different awards shows here in LA. She escorts the talent on red carpet....gets them anything they need..
helps them to their seats...etc. Anyway, she was given four tickets and has invited Shea and I to go with Harrison and Hanna. It's the NAACP Awards Show. I'm excited! Til tomorrow.....

Day 30 in LA.....February 2012

Hello....well, today was "Beauty Parlor Day." I went in to see Marcie for a color and Brazilian Blow-Out....Shea went in after me for a Color and Cut. Shea did get three new auditions this evening. Two are for tomorrow. The first one is for a voiceover role in an animation show. The second one if for a lead role in a movie ~ "Resident Advisor" ~ Role: Hanna. Shea will be reading for the casting directors as well as the Director and Producers of the project. Her other audition is next week for a new Pilot ~ but, Jamie sent Shea the script ~ so she can read it and prepare. Til tomorrow.....
