Day 131 in LA.....Nov 2011

Hello.........lots and lots of packing.....but, it is DONE!   Alleluia!     Harrison is taking us to the airport in the morning.....our flight leaves at noon......and tomorrow begins Day 1 in PTC.....can not wait!    I will be taking a break now from writing on the blog.   But, I will update from time to time with any news on Shea.

Hello........well, I packed all day today.....then Shea and Harrison packed the car with all that I've done.
I just have our closets and bathroom cabinets to do.   Shea has gone to a party tonight with friends.   One more day.....then we are home!  :)    Til tomorrow.....

Happy Friday!      Jamie invited Shea and I to lunch today......so we drove up to Santa Clarita to meet with her and Liz (her assistant).    We had a great visit and yummy lunch!    Jamie told us that the project she was getting info on for Shea to maybe get in before we leave on Monday ~ is a brand new show being put together now.   The casting director ~ Howard Metzer ~ who has seen Shea and loves her ~ called Jamie and requested Shea to come in to read for producers for a part ~ before they begin auditions.    However, they are very much in the beginning stages ~ and he does not need Shea to come in to see the Producers until January.    I'm not feeling very well tonight.......so didn't get any packing done today.  :(     Oh well, I have two full days to pack....it will all get done!   Til tomorrow.....

Day 128 in LA.....Nov. 2011

Hello.....well, I started to do some packing today.     There is so much going on with Shea right now...so, we have decided to fly home on Monday and leave the car.    We will fly back in January and either drive the car home or stay again.   No decisions made!     Jamie wants to see Shea before we head home for the holidays....so, we plan to meet up with her sometime tomorrow afternoon.    She also asked me what time our flight was on Monday?    Here we go!   ha!    She wouldn't tell me what it was.....but, she wants to get Shea in for an audition on Monday before we leave.    Nothing like up to the "last minute!"    ha!    Our flight leaves at 12:15 pm.    So we will see?!    I am sooo ready to get home! ~ 4 days!  :)   Til tomorrow.....

Day 127 in LA.....Nov. 2011

Buzzzzzzz....that was the sound of the alarm clock this morning at 4 am!     We both got ready and drove to the studio....getting there at 5:30 am.    They put Shea and Emily (the other dancer) in a dressing room ~ and the two guys ~ Chris and Gary ~ in another one.   They fed everyone breakfast.  The girls went to hair and make-up first....then the boys.    Then it was to Stage 6 to shoot the commercial for "Jack in the Box."    We were there until 2:45pm.....doing different takes.   Then it was a "wrap!"    The kids then went and had lunch that was provided for them.   I always enjoy watching the process of making these.....so, it was a lot of fun for me!    The commercial should be released in 6-8 weeks.    Of course, this fast food restaurant is mainly a "westcoast" thing.....so, many of you won't even get to see it.     They are also putting it on the internet.     I will let you know if and when that would be available for you all to see!    Think it will be a    s l o w day tomorrow!    Til then.....

Hello......Shea had to be at the wardrobe fitting today at 10 am.......she was there til 12 noon.      We went to the SAG headquarters afterwards.   I filled out all the papers (took me over an hour to fill them ALL out!) ha!   And Shea is now officially a member of SAG ~ Screen Actors Guild.    She was a "must join" because of this last commercial she booked.    She "had" to join or she wouldn't have been cleared to shoot the commercial.   So she is good to go!  :)    Her "Call Time" on set tomorrow is 5:45 am for hair and make-up!    They are shooting this commercial on a real set at Hollywood Center Studios.    So, it's early to bed tonight!   Til tomorrow.....

Day 125 in LA.....Nov. 2011

Hello!     I attended my Bible Study this morning while Shea did her schoolwork.    I really enjoy being in that group every Monday.    The ladies in it are precious!   Shea had her audition this afternoon in Culver City for the show ~ "Make It Or Break It" ~ a recurring guest star role.   Jamie called us on our way home to say that Shea is now a "Must Join" ~ SAG ~ because of booking this commercial.   Sooo, I have to go to their headquarters when they open tomorrow morning and fill out the paperwork and PAY for her to join.    THEN, she will be "cleared" to do the commercial.    They just called to say Shea needs to be at the wardrobe fitting in Santa Monica tomorrow at 10 am!    Y I K E S!    I KNOW that will NEVER happen.
I explained to her our situation....and she said just get there as quickly as we can!   And let's not forget about the "wonderful TRAFFIC" here in LA!   Ugh!    We might get to the wardrobe fitting by NOON!   Shea is attending a new acting class tonight with Lynette McNeil.   She is very well known here and works with lots of big names.    Oh, and let's just end this with MORE wonderful news.....we drive up tonight and there are THREE BIG Coyotes ~ just right there walking around!    All I could think about was my poor little Gracie ~ I walk her in the very same areas they were walking!    NOT GOOD!    I had to take her out when we got home......I was a WRECK.....looking over my shoulder the entire time!

Hello.....Lucky me got to clean the apartment today ~ good times!     Shea hung out with friends and watched movies....while I went to the mall and walked around.  I saw Carnie Wilson from the singing group Wilson-Phillips in the food court.   I went up to her and told her I love her and their group.   She was really sweet.   Chris is with Topher in Pawley's Island for the weekend.   Chris said the town is just adorable!    Shea and I are going out to dinner tonight.   Til tomorrow.....

Hello and Happy Weekend!     Exciting NEWS!     Shea BOOKED the commercial for the "Jack in the Box!"    We praise God for this blessing!   So happy for her!    Wardrobe on Tuesday ~ Nov. 8th and shooting on Wed. ~ Nov. 9th.    :)     She had an audition this afternoon for a "Footlocker" commercial.  And just received another audition for Monday for the show "Make It or Break It."    For the recurring guest star role of: Wendy Morse.   Have a happy Friday night ~ be safe!   Til tomorrow.....

Hi all!   No word back yet on the "Jack in the Box" commercial.    She does have another audition tomorrow afternoon for a Footlocker commercial.    She got some feedback tonight from Jamie about her audition yesterday for the role of Jessica for "Switched at Birth."     They said Shea did an amazing, fantastic job ~ an awesome read!   They sent the tape to producers.   Not sure if she is right for the role ~ but, really like her!    Til tomorrow.....

Here I am again writing for two days......yesterday (Tuesday) ~ Shea had a callback for the "Jack in the Box" (a fast-food restaurant) Commercial.    It was in Santa Monica ~ and she had a lot of fun!    Today ~ (Wednesday) ~ Shea had an audition today for the ABC Family's show ~ "Switched at Birth" for the role of Jessica.    And BIG NEWS.....Jamie called Shea to tell her that she is "On Avail" for the "Jack in the Box" Commercial.    That means they called and really like Shea and want her on hold ~ to make sure she is available for wardrobe and shooting Nov. 7-11th!   We will find out either tomorrow or Friday ~ if it is "for sure" and she books!    Really proud of her!     Til tomorrow.....

Happy Monday!     I really enjoyed Bible Study today.....the ladies are so nice....and I really get so much out of the lessons!   Mailed Toph's Care Package afterwards.....that box was stuffed!   ha!   I talked to my mom today and one of her friends saw Shea's commercial on TV today for the No Texting and Driving.     Shea has a callback for the "Jack in the Box" commercial tomorrow afternoon....We are going over to Sharon's now for dinner ~ Potroast ~ Yum!  Til tomorrow.....

Hello.......Shea went to Six Flags today with Harrison and his sister Hanna.    I decided to go to the Glendale Mall and walk around.   I have my Bible Study in the morning.   Sharon has invited us over for dinner again tomorrow night ~ which is sooo nice!    Hope you all had a super weekend!   Til tomorrow.....

Hello.....I'm writing the blog for two days.....yesterday(Friday).....I went shopping while Shea did her schoolwork.    Christopher is not going to be able to be with us at the beach for Thanksgiving this year ~ which I am very sad about....but, I also understand.    Because of his job....he has to work the day before and the day after Thanksgiving....and it would be too far to make a drive down just for one day.    So, I went and bought him all kinds of little goodies and Thanksgiving decs for his apartment ~ so, I can send him a "Care Package."   Then Shea and I had dinner with Sharon and Harrison and Hanna at a great little Italian restaurant ~ where the waiters and waitresses all sing show tunes.    And now Sat....first of all ~ Yahoo ~ Florida State Seminoles had a BIG win today in Tallahassee.   Chris is there for the weekend.   Shea was invited to a fundraising "Unicef" party tonight in Glendale.   One of the girls on Disney's show "So Random" ~ Alison (don't know last name?) is sponsoring it ~ it's at her house.   I'm just hanging out with Gracie reading my book.   Til tomorrow.....

Hello.....Ok....Shea had her audition for the "Jack in the Box" (a fast food place) commercial this afternoon.    She had to be dressed in colorful clothing....and learn a dance.   She had a great time!    Suzanne (casting director) called Jamie (Shea's manager) today and requested Shea for an audition tomorrow for the role of "Evie" on an episode of Disney's "Shake It Up."    The script is really funny!!
This Evie character is kind of nerdy and unstylish!   Shea is so excited!  Til tomorrow.....

Day 112 in LA.....Oct. 2011

Hello.....Shea had her first audition at 3:30 this afternoon.   That one was for the new Disney show ~ "Cheerleaders & Zombies" ~ for the role of Eliza.   She felt great about it.   Afterwards, she stopped in to say hello to Suzanne (casting director) for Shake it Up ~ and Crash and Bernstein.    Shea loves her!   We then went onto the second one.....for the On-going Hosting Gig for "Disney 365."    Shea was like the last one of the day to audition....and she said she felt like they rushed her.   Oh well.....now we are back at apt.
She has an audition from Atlanta that we have to tape and send tonight.  It's for a Hallmark movie ~ "Crew Six" ~ Role: Margie Scott.   She is learning the script now.    I need to "set up our studio" ha!   And "Action!" Til tomorrow.....

Happy Monday!      I went to my Bible Study this morning ~ which was wonderful!    Shea had an audition this afternoon for a Wal-Mart Commercial ~ about Thanksgiving.       She is at her acting class right now.   She just got an audition for tomorrow for an on-going Hosting Gig for Disney 365 ~ which Shea will love!  :)   Til tomorrow.....

Hello.....hope you all have had a nice weekend!    I was incorrect when I told you Shea went to a taping of the "X Factor" show on Friday night ~ it was "The Sing-Off" show.     Sorry bout that!    Shea and I drove down to Beverly Hills this afternoon and we drove up and down all the streets ~ to look at all the beautiful homes.  More like castles!   ha!   Then we went and had an early dinner at 208 Rodeo.    Tomorrow I am going to my Bible Study....Shea has her acting class in the evening.....til tomorrow.....

Hi!     Today was just an R & R day......Shea was invited to a birthday party tonight ~ it's at a Go-Cart place.    She went with Harrison and Sloane.    Lucky Mom is doing laundry on her Sat. night ~ good times!   ha!    I'm feeling really homesick!   Looking forward to getting home soon ~ probably 3 weeks!

Hello all.....sorry I didn't write the blog yesterday....Shea doubled up on her schoolwork yesterday because she had a full day for Friday.    We did some shopping in the afternoon.....then went to Sharon's (Harrison's Mom) for dinner.   Had a fun evening!    Shea got up early today and went with Harrison and Sloane to attend the taping of the "X Factor" singing competition.   Sloane's mom got the tickets for them to celebrate her birthday.   She is a HUGE Christina Aguilara fan ~ and of course she is a judge on that show.    They had to get in line early to get a seat up front.    So I had a free day ~  I drove to the Americana outdoor shopping center and walked around for a few hours.   Then back to the apartment to hang out with Gracie.  Happy Friday!    Til tomorrow.....

Hello.....Shea got up and did her schoolwork on the computer.    I did laundry and then went grocery shopping.   Guess who was in the car next to mine at Ralph's?    The spanish kid ~ who plays Manny on Modern Family.  He's so cute ~ he was with him Mom.   Shea had her callback at 6 o'clock for the role of Amanda for "Crash and Bernstein."   She felt great about it!    Zendya Coleman ~ who plays Rocky on "Shake It Up" came in while I was waiting for Shea.   Til tomorrow.....

Hello.....well it was a L O N G day waiting for Jamie to call to let us know what they had decided on the Gina role for Shake it Up?!     FINALLY at 6:15 pm they called Shea.....the producers changed the ethnicity for the role of Gina!!!   :(     Shea is really disappointed.....but, she knows God has a plan....so she trusts!   Jamie said it was the best reason to lose a role ~ cuz you can't change ethnicity!    She said that Shea has really made an impression at Disney.   Also, that casting was really disppointed that the producers went a different way.   So bummed for Shea....but, I'm proud of her....she really "Keeps the Faith!"   :)     She is going in to read again (2nd time) for the Producers tomorrow at 6 pm for the role of Amanda for the Disney pilot ~ "Crash and Bernstein."   It's a great role!    Til tomorrow.....

Hey!   Ok....day started out sad.....having to say good-bye to Chris.......we did have a very wonderful long weekend together though ~ so grateful for that!    It ended very happy!    Shea had her audition for a guest role: Gina on Disney's "Shake It Up" at 3:45 pm.....the casting director asked her to stay to meet with the Producers at 5 pm.    Shea was thrilled!   She went in to the Producers and they loved her.    They gave her a few notes (to make a few changes) and asked her to come back in ~ after a few minutes.   She went in and they said they believe she is this character.   That she was hilarious!   They taped her and will show it to the Director.    She is sooo psyched and thankful!   We just continue to praise God for these blessings!  Also, we did hear from the director of the PSA Shea booked several months ago.    He said it will be airing this week ~ yahoo!    We haven't seen it yet?    This is the one about "No Texting and Driving."   Til tomorrow.....

Hi!    The three of us went to Disneyland for the day.    Had a great time!    Chris and Shea did the big rides (roller coasters) ~ while I went to the "slower" rides!  ha!     Chris has to leave tomorrow around noon.   :(     Shea has her Disney audition for "Shake It Up" in the afternoon.    Til tomorrow.....

Had a relaxing Saturday.   Love having Chris here!   We watched some of the FSU game.....then went and sat by the pool and read our books for a few hours.     Yahoo ~ Seminoles won today!!!     We had burgers from the grill tonight and watched a movie (Horrible Bosses ~ very funny!)    The three of us are going to Disneyland tomorrow.   Shea got an audition for Monday for Disney's "Shake It Up" ~ for the guest role of Gina.     She's excited!    Til tomorrow.....

Hi!    Chris made us a lovely breakfast.....then Shea did her school....and Chris and I went to the Mall to get a new Magic Bullet for our shakes.....then we decided to see a movie....the Ides of March with George Clooney and Ryan Gosling.    It's good!    Got back here and Shea was leaving with Harrison to go see a friend of their's who is guest starring on the show ~ "Melissa and Joey" ~ they are taping the episode at 5pm....but, they of course have to get their early to get their seat.   I got tickets for a comedy club for Chris and I tonight ~ seeing Jeff Garlin and Judd Apatow.   Show is sold out.  Hope you all are having a wonderful day!  Til tomorrow.....

Hello...Can't believe it's day 100!....Shea and I got up early and took Gracie and we walked to Paty's(3 and 1/2 miles) for breakfast....and back.    We picked up Chris at the Bob Hope airport here in Burbank this afternoon.   Sooo happy he is here with us!  :)    Shea is at one of her favorite acting teacher's (Johnny V.) class tonight here at Oakwood.   Til tomorrow.....

Day 98 in LA.....Oct. 2011

Hello all.....Shea had a busy day today.   She had an audition this morning for a new show ~ "Work It" ~ for a co-star role as Cassandra.    She had her callback for the BJ's commercial this afternoon.   Liz (manager's assistant) called me again last night.   She had phoned them again at casting for the "Lab Rats" show to get some feedback for Shea.    They told Liz that they LOVE her!  She just wasn't the "Danielle character."   They think Shea is very funny, and want to find something for her.   So that all made Shea feel good!    Jamie called this evening.   She talked to casting at Nickelodeon for over an hour just about Shea.
They really like her and want her to come in.  They called Matt (Shea's agent) to set some things up.    She also has another audition tomorrow.   It's for "Glee" ~ to play the young Jane Lynch!   How fun is that?!  :)    So, she is very excited about that!   Also, we haven't seen it yet......but, the Public Service Announcement Shea did several months ago....is supposed to be airing very soon!   We haven't seen it yet!   I'll let you know when we see it!   Til tomorrow.....

Hello.....I went to the Bible Study this morning while Shea did her schoolwork.   Such a nice group of ladies....really enjoyed my time there today!     We were waiting to hear what they had decided ~ in regards to the Disney show ~ "Lab Rats."   Liz (Jamie's assistant) called to say that Shea would not be going any further on the Lab Rat project.  :(    Shea was bummed....but, she knows there is a reason.   Liz said she has been sooo close....something is going to "stick" soon!     She does have an audition tomorrow morning for "Work It" ~ for the role of Cassandra.   And she got a "callback" for the BJ's commercial she auditioned for last week!  :)    Til tomorrow.....

Hello.....Shea decided she would hang with Mom today.....we decided to have a "Movie Fest!"    We watched "Flashdance", "Sweeney Todd" and "Burlesque."    We had fun....and it was nice to have a "Veg day!"    I am going to a Bible Study tomorrow morning with a friend, Sharon.   Really looking forward to that.....til tomorrow.....

Hello.....well, Chris was with Topher and his girlfriend Libby at the Wake Forest/ FSU game today in NC.
Not a happy ending....lost 35 - 30....  :(    But, Chris said it was wonderful to be with Toph!     I just did some cleaning around the apartment and got some groceries.   Shea organized her closet ~ which was in DIRE need of some attention!   She has gone tonight with Harrison and his mother to Knott's Berry Farm.  Til tomorrow.....

Day 94 in LA.....Oct. 2011

It was the start of a regular school day for Shea today....and laundry day for me....then we heard from Alex ~ her agent from People Store in Atlanta.    Casting really liked Shea for the audition we filmed and sent in for the show ~ "The Finder."   The scene will require her wearing a bathing suit....so they asked that we send in a photo of Shea in a swim suit.   Which we did.   Shea had an audition this afternoon for a new Disney show ~ Lab Rats ~ for the guest starring role of Danielle.    The place was packed with girls.   The casting director loved Shea and asked that we stay til 6 pm to meet with the producers.    Shea was one of 4 girls to meet with them at 6pm.   Shea felt great about it and is absolutely thrilled!   We thank the Lord for all the incredible opportunities he is blessing her with!   Jamie said they will make a decision on this by Monday.   Til tomorrow.....

Day 93 in LA.....Oct. 2011

Hello.....Shea couldn't start school this am because she had audition at 11 am.    We were on the Disney/ABC property for this one.   This role for Shea is 15 yrs. old....her parents are in prison....she's a foster kid....AND seven months preggo!   Oh My!   ha!    But, it's a comedy ~ She made them laugh ~ and felt great about the audition.   We came back to the apartment to get some lunch.    Then on to the next one.
The second one is for a commercial for "BJ's" ~ playing a waitress.    Shea saw that the casting director was in a BAD mood when she got in the room.   So....you know Shea.....when it was her turn to slate (give her name, age and who she is represented by)....she starts singing...."If you're happy and you know it....clap your hands.....!"   The casting director CRACKED up!   Then they had a blast!!   Shea came back and did her schoolwork after that.   Til tomorrow.....

Hello......well, it is usually sunshine here in LA....but, today it is a raining!      I finished a book while Shea did her schoolwork.   We went to go see Matt and his new assistant ~ Pietra at Greene and Assoc. ~ Shea's agent for television and film.   We had a fun visit....and Pietra is really sweet!    Now we are meeting Harrison for dinner in Burbank.   I wanted to treat him for taking Shea to all her auditions and for taping her while I was gone.   After dinner we are going to another "preview" movie ~ I got free tickets for.  It's a comedy.   Til tomorrow.....

Day 90 and 91 in LV and LA.....Oct. 2011

Howdy friends and family!    I told you I wouldn't be able to write the blog yesterday ~ as I was going to Las Vegas to see Chris.   We had a wonderful time!   As always though when you are having fun ~ it goes by way too quickly!   We didn't go to any shows or anything....we did go to a nice dinner last night.   We only had 24 hrs....so, just wanted to be with my man!  :)    Shea was busy yesterday here in LA.   After doing her schoolwork ~ she had her first audition at 3:10 pm for an MTV movie ~ "My Super Psycho Sweet Sixteen Part 3"   (sooo not liking that title!) ~ for the role of Brynn.  Then Harrison took her to her second aud. for An ABC Family movie ~ "Always a Bride" ~ for the role of Shelly.   Shea said she felt great about the first one for MTV ~ but, not so much for the second one ~ she said the casting director was in a bad mood and not very nice.    Shea also had an audition she needed to tape and send to Atlanta ~ for the tv show ~ "Army Wives" ~ for the role of Molly Sherwood at 16.   So, Harrison read with her and taped her and they sent that off.   Really proud of them!    And today (Tuesday) ~ Shea had two more aud.
The 1st one was at 12:45 pm for the ABC show ~ "Melissa and Joey" ~ for the role of Scarlett.    And then another one that needed to be taped and sent to Atlanta.  This one was for the show ~ "The Finder" ~ role: Carmella.    So Shea has been busy, busy ~ which she loves!!     We are going to Greene and Assoc. tomorrow afternoon to visit her agent Matt and his new assistant ~ Pietra.   Til tomorrow.....

Hello.....Shea had a wonderful time last night going to a special viewing party with her friend Rachel Fox and lots of other friends ~ to see "Dream House" ~ the movie Rachel is starring in.    Then they were invited to the Presidential suite there at the Hilton at City Walk where the parents had a big food spread for all the kids.   A lot of kids from other tv shows were at the party too.   I am sooo excited to see Chris tomorrow in Las Vegas.   I went and got the car all filled up and washed today.   And now I am getting everything ready for Shea and the auditions she has tomorrow.    The first one is for an MTV movie ~ "My Super Psycho Sweet Sixteen Part 3"(NOT loving that title!) ~ Role: Brynn.   The second one is for an ABC Family tv movie ~ "Always A Bride" ~ Role: Shelly.   I  have her headshots and directions all ready for them both ~ her outfits are chosen ~ and she's practicing her lines today.   Harrison will be driving her to them both ~ we LOVE Harrison!!   :)    I am leaving early in the morning to drive to LVegas and will be driving back on Tuesday.   So won't be writing tomorrow.....Til Tuesday.....

Shea was up early today to go to a local high school to take her SAT exam.    I just hung around here today cleaning the apartment and doing laundry.    Shea is with friends celebrating a birthday tonight.   She downloaded and printed out all the breakdowns and sides for the auditions she has next week.   Til tomorrow.....

Hello.....last day in September.....I told you I would tell you about seeing Tim Allen last night.   Sharon and I were on the front row looking right up at him.   He was absolutely hilarious!   Great show!   Today we got tickets for the preview screening of "Footloose" ~ it opens in theaters next Friday.   They gave us all pink Footloose t-shirts.   The movie is good ~ the kid that plays the male lead is fantastic!   Shea got FOUR auditions today!!   Yahoo!   I will fill 'ya in on the details of those soon!   It's the good 'ole SAT test for Shea early in the morning....she's thrilled!   NOT!   ha!   Til tomorrow.....

Hello.....alright still putting in the phone numbers in the new phone.    I went for a walk today while Shea did her schoolwork.   I am going out with a friend tonight ~ Shea's friend Harrison's mother Sharon.   We are going out to eat at the Saddle Ranch....then going to the Laugh Factory to see Tim Allen.   I'm so excited!   I'll tell you about the show tomorrow.....

Hello.....I am so excited!    Chris will be in Las Vegas next week for business.....so, I am driving over early on Monday morning so I can see him!   :)    Really miss him ~ so I'm so happy for this quick little visit!  I will spend the night Monday ~ and drive back on Tuesday.  Shea will stay here to take care of Gracie and do her schoolwork.   If she does need a ride anywhere Harrison has offered to be her driver!   Shea did get an audition today ~ for a role in a TV movie ~ "Always a Bride" ~ audition is Friday ~ October 7th.  Til tomorrow.....

Hello.....ok....I messed up yesterday....calling it "Day 82" and it was really "Day 81".....so TODAY is Day 82.... alrighty now that's all cleared up.....we had a problem with our fridge leaking....so called about that today and they were right over and fixed that!   Shea went horseback riding with Harrison.   I finished my "Book Club" book and went on a long walk today.   Hope we have a busy, busy week ahead!   Til tomorrow.....

Hello!    Shea had to do make-up schoolwork because of not being able to do it yesterday.    I did all the boring blah, blah, blah stuff!     Shea and I went to the restaurant "Castaways" up on the hill in Burbank.
It overlooks all of the LA area.    We had a nice time.   We are home now and going to watch a scary movie ~ NOT my idea!  :(    Night!  til tomorrow.....

Hello.....ok.....finally talked to Liz (Shea's management) and this is the deal.....they called Disney Studios and asked about Shea.....they really like Shea!    They are still seeing other kids though for all of these roles ~ which we didn't know.   So, it's a process of elimination.   The next step for Shea would be for them to call her in for a "chemistry read" ~ she would read the script with other actors and they would see if they had good chemistry.   Liz said it could be a month before the final decision is made.   Soooo, Shea will continue to audition for other things and if it's meant to be ~ it will happen.   The director for the Public Service Announcement Shea is in had a DVD made for Shea with some of his cuts ~ that she can put on her reel.   I went to pick that up today.    Shea and Harrison are at the Demi Lavato concert tonight.   Til tomorrow.....

Day 79 in LA.....Sept. 2011

Hello bloggers!    Well, we went to Disney Studios for Shea to meet with the Producers.     We got there around 4:45pm.   Sarah Hyland from Modern Family walked in while we were waiting.  :)   She is soooo tiny!!    Anyway, they had it narrowed down to only four kids for each role on this new show.   So, they took the first 4 boys ~ one a time ~ auditioning for the role of Wyatt.   Then the next 4 boys ~ one a time ~ this time for the role of Pesco.   Then the next 4 girls ~ one at a time ~ for the role of Cleo.   And lastly, the 4 girls ~ one at a time ~ for the role of Amanda.   Shea was the last girl to go in.    Shea said there were 7 people in the room.   She felt great about it!   Now it's "wait time!"   Jamie and Liz (her manager and her assistant) said they would call them tomorrow to check in.   They said they will either say ~ "Shea will be going on further with us on this project" ~ or "that she won't be going any further."   So, we should know something by tomorrow!    I'm just so very proud of Shea to get this far in the process.   Seeing over 500 kids for this part ~ and she is one of four it is narrowed down to!    I'm beaming with pride!    Hope I get a little sleep tonight!   ha!     Til tomorrow.....

Hello......did a lot of stuff today.....but, who cares?!   ha!    Our very exciting news is about Shea and her callback today for Crash and Bernstein ~ for the role of Amanda.     The casting director told Shea she is her favorite for this role.   She worked with her for almost a half hour ~ just giving her tips on the script ~ for when she meets with the Producers tomorrow!    Yes, Shea is over the moon ~ and praising God for this incredible opportunity!    So, she is meeting with the Producers of this new show at Disney Studios here in Burbank tomorrow at 5 pm.   Yes, I cried!!   ha!   Til tomorrow.....

Day 77 in LA.....Sept. 2011

Howdy!   We began our day with Mom setting up the "studio" and filming Shea for the role of Mandy in the film "Neighborhood Watch" and sending that to Atlanta.    Then Shea did classwork....and I did all the boring blah, blah, blah stuff!    Shea had an audition this afternoon in Santa Monica for Nickelodeon ~ to be an On-Air Host!     She had a blast with this audition ~ she held a microphone and actually pretended to be asking Anne Hathaway questions on the Nickelodeon orange carpet!  :)    We just got a call that Shea has a callback for the new Disney show pilot ~ "Crash and Bernstein."    She is soooo psyched and very thankful!    She really, really loves this role of Amanda.   I will keep you posted....til tomorrow.....

Hi!     Shea had a dermatologist appt. this morning.   Afterwards she did her schoolwork.    Shea got a callback for a film ~ "Neighborhood Watch" ~ Role: Mandy.   So, we are taping her in the morning and sending it to Atlanta.   She also has an audition tomorrow afternoon for an on-line hosting role on Nickelodeon.   We are watching the season premiere of Two and a Half Men.   Til tomorrow.....

Hello all.....it was a gorgeous day today.....so, Shea and I decided we wanted to be out in it.    Harrison went with us also.  We first went to downtown LA to see how close we could get to the red carpet for today's Emmy's.   We were up close in a great spot.....THEN the LAPD came and made us all move ~ Bummer!    So....we decided to go to the Grove.    We walked around the shops....then went to see the movie ~ "Contagion."   It's good....but, really makes you think ~ and carry hand sanitizer with you!   ha!
Then we went to Paty's to grab a bite!    We are back now watching the Emmy's.   Til tomorrow.....

Day 74 in LA.....Sept. 2011

Hello.....Just watched FSU lose to Oklahoma....but, we did put up a fight!   Thought we looked good!  Chris is there in Tallahassee ~ know he hated to see them lose.....but, he will definitely be cheering them on for the rest of the season!    Shea had an audition this afternoon for a Comedy Central pilot ~ for the role of:
Lizzy Sky.    She had a great time!     Fall is my favorite season.....and it has begun for me as Starbuck's is now serving their fall coffee ~ Pumpkin Spice Lattes!   LOVE IT!  :)    TV's big night tomorrow with the Emmy's being given out!   That's all for now......til tomorrow.....

Hello and Happy Friday!   I ran some errands while Shea did her schoolwork.    Shea was asked to retape her audition for the role of May Pearl in the film "Mud."   This was sent to us from Atlanta.   So, I set up the "studio" and we taped it and it is sent!  :)     Shea was invited to a VIP Grand Opening of a Chick-fil-a (only one in LA) here on Hollywood Blvd. tonight.   Supposedly having a red carpet and some celebs are maybe coming?   Shea is just THRILLED to have an actual Chick-fil-a right here!!!    That was one thing she really missed about Georgia!   Ok ~ well, Shea has an audition tomorrow afternoon for a Comedy Central pilot.  Til tomorrow.....

Howdy!    I went to Burbank Mall today and did a bit of shopping ~ while Shea did her schoolwork.  She did get an audition today from Alex in Atlanta.   But, the audition is here in LA on Saturday afternoon.  It's for Comedy Central ~ a pilot ~ "Fat Busters."  The role is Lizzy Sky.   It looks pretty funny ~ a great character for Shea!   Til tomorrow.....

Hello.    While Shea did her schoolwork.....I did laundry....cleaned apartment and gave Gracie a bath!  :)   I wasn't totally satisfied with my Brazilian Blow Out.....so, Marcie told me to come back in tonight at 5:30 so she could do it again.   I think it took it this time....I'm so excited!   Tish Cyrus(Miley Cyrus' mom) was in the salon getting highlights while I was there.....and then Miley's brother came in and got his hair straightened.  I texted Shea to let her know.   She wanted me to go and chat it up with Tish!   ha!    Don't think so!   Shea went out to eat with friends tonight and is now at Christian's with all of them watching a movie.  Til tomorrow.....

Hello!    Shea had her VO audition this morning for the Winx Club ~ roles Alice and Clarissa.    Chris had some conference calls ~ so he had a cab pick him up and take him to the airport for his 1 pm flight.   Sure did hate to see him leave....but, I am very thankful for our fantastic long weekend!   After the audition ~ Shea and I went to get some lunch.   We were in Beverly Hills (audition there) ~ we went to Villa Blanca. For those who are "Beverly Hills Housewives" fans....Villa Blanca is Lisa's restaurant.    We got to see Lisa and her husband Ken.   They really are a stunning couple.   Shea did her schoolwork when we got back....I did some grocery shopping.    Shea is at her acting class tonight.   Til tomorrow.....

Howdy!    Writing yesterday's and today's blog.....Shea had her ACT test yesterday morning....Chris and I ran errands....then we watched the FSU game on the computer (ESPN3) ~ and we had a big win!!   Shea went out with friends....Chris and I stayed in ~ had appetizers and watched movies.    Today we went to Santa Barbara...it's about an hour north of LA.....beautiful area!  :)     Just walked around.....looked at the art festival....Shea went with us and took friends.....Harrison and Sloane.....we all had a great day!    Now we are back....and going to put some chicken on the grill.....Shea has a voiceover audition tomorrow at 11 am....for the Winx show on Nickelodeon....for two different roles.   Chris has a flight at 1pm out of the Bob Hope airport in Burbank to fly home.  :(   Til tomorrow.....

Hello!    Chris and I went and did some shopping while Shea did her schoolwork.   We took her to her callback for the Disney.com series this afternoon.    She had a wonderful experience at the callback!   Then Shea met up with friends for the evening ~ going to a bon-fire at the beach.   Chris and I went for drinks and appetizers at this great place up high in the hills.    A gorgeous view of the city.   We had a fun time!  Shea has her ACT test early tomorrow morning.   She has an audition on Monday for a Voiceover for two different roles on the Winx show on Nickelodeon.   Til tomorrow.....

Hi!    I got the car filled up and bought groceries while Shea did her schoolwork.   We left for her audition around 3:50....Chris got a cab from the airport and met us at the audition.    Shea had a great time meeting with casting for the role of Amanda for "Cash and Bernstein" today.   She felt terrific about it!   I am sooo happy Chris is here!   :)     Shea has her callback tomorrow afternoon for the Disney.com series.  Til tomorrow.....

Day 64 in LA.....Sept. 2011

Shea did her classes this morning.....I had a hair appt. for a Brazilian Blow Out.   The older I have gotten the wavier and frizzier it has become.  :(    So our gal here told me to try this.   It takes awhile to do the entire process ~ 2 1/2 hrs. ~ But, I'm hoping it will be worth it.  This process makes your hair smooth and straight.   Shea has an audition tomorrow afternoon for a new show ~ "Crash and Bernstein" ~ Role: Amanda.    So, she printed out the sides and is practicing them this evening.   It's a great role for Shea!  Chris' flight arrives tomorrow at 3:30pm ~ I was going to pick him up ~ then Shea got this audition.   So, he is going to take a cab to where we are for the audition.   Til tomorrow.....

Day 63 in LA.....Sept. 2011

So, it was back to the books (actually on the computer!) for Shea today.    I ran some errands.    Shea got the info for her callback today for the Untitled Disney. com Series.   She will be meeting with casting again as well as the writer, director, executive producers and producers of the show.    She will be doing the reading as well as singing for them.   The callback is on Friday at 3:30 pm.   She is sooo psyched!   Tonight she is attending an acting class led by Andrew Magarian with her friend Sloane.   I'm excited because in less than two days....Chris will be here!!    Yahoo!!     He arrives at LAX Thursday afternoon.

Hope you all had a terrific Labor Day!    Shea and I went out for a late lunch.....and then have just hung out on the couches watching movies....major SLUGS!  ha!   Shea didn't have her acting class tonight ~ due to the holiday.   So, it's back to school tomorrow for Shea.....she has been invited to attend an acting class tomorrow night with her friend Sloane.   It's with the acting coach ~ Andrew McGarian.   Shea is very excited, as he has worked with many well known actors.   Til tomorrow.....

Day 60 and 61 in LA.....Sept. 2011

Hello.....yesterday(Saturday) ~ we decided we wanted to go horseback riding again.   It was Shea, Blake, Harrison, Hanna and me.   We went for a three hour ride.   All the way up the big hill of Griffith Park ~ at the top you overlook LA and all the suburbs around....with the Hollywood sign up close!   We all had a great time.....of course, today(Sunday) we are a "bit' sore ~ ok....REALLY sore!  ha!   Our "tushes" are a bit tender!   :(     Still glad we went though ~ we did have a super time!   Just a relaxing day today....I did get some laundry done....then Shea and I went to the Glendale Galleria....we needed to go to Sephora and get a few make-up items.   Shea has been practicing a song for her Disney callback this coming week.  Til tomorrow.....

Day 57 in LA.....August 2011

Hi!   I packed up the apartment while Shea did her schoolwork.    She had her audition for the Disney webisode this afternoon.   There were lots of kids there.   The casting director loved Shea....and told her he will be calling her manager and will want her in for a callback definitely!   So, of course Shea was thrilled!
It's very exciting....she loves this role of Lexi.   The callback session will not be until later next week.   We are moving into the new apartment tomorrow.   This is our new address:  3620 Barham Blvd.  Y-220 ~ LA, CA.  90068.    Thinking about it being September 1st tomorrow.....it was a year ago tomorrow that Shea and I started our drive out to LA!   Til tomorrow.....

Day 56 in LA.....August 2011

Hello....got Shea up early this morning so we could tape the audition for Atlanta and get it sent to them.   I got the "studio" all set up!    I had lamps EVERYWHERE!   ha!   This was for the feature film ~ "Mud" and the role is "May Pearl."    Then Shea started her schoolwork.   I had a hair appt. with Marcie for a color.   They called to say the computer was ready ~ so, Shea went to pick it up.   The man told Shea that since she had been totally honest with what had happened to the computer (spilled coffee) and had been nice ~ he fixed the computer FREE of charge!   And that it was under full warranty again!   Shea said the bill had over $900.00 on it.   The man told Shea it was like getting a totally brand new computer!   Alleluia!   VERY thankful for this news!   Shea has an audition tomorrow at 4:30 pm for a Disney Webisode ~ Role : Lexi.  She is psyched!  Til tomorrow.....

Hi!   I couldn't write the blog last night as we are borrowing a computer and I couldn't figure out how to work it?!    Sorry!   Shea went to the Taylor Swift Concert last night with Harrison.   She said it was a wonderful show!   Ellen did a surprise visit!   And there were lots of stars sitting near Shea at the concert also ~ Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, Joe Jonas and Reese Witherspoon with her two children.   Slow day today...Shea did her schoolwork....and is now at her acting class.   She does have an audition we need to tape for Atlanta tomorrow morning.   It's for a feature film w a co/starring role.   Til tomorrow.....

Hello....seems I have been doing this several times this month....writing yesterday's blog today.   Sorry!   Saturday~Aug. 27th ~ Shea had a one year contract with Jamie ~ her manager and it is running out in the next few days.   She called to say that they love Shea and would like to sign her for another 2 years.   I printed it out and signed the contract and mailed it to her today.   I also mailed a citation we got the day before while we were in visiting with Felix.   When Shea parked the car she didn't direct her tires into the hill we were on....so we got a ticket for $23.00 bucks!   I'm NOT kidding!!   They are nuts here!  ha!!    Shea had a bday party she went to with several of her friends ~ it was Sherman Oaks.   I went out with three other moms here.   We went to dinner first....then over to Susan's to play dominoes.   I really had a good time!   Ok....I will write today's blog later on this evening.....til then.....

Day 52 in LA.....August 2011

Hi!   Shea got up and did all her schoolwork.   I ran to CVS and the grocery store while Shea was doing her classwork.   Then this afternoon we went to Beverly Hills to see one of Shea's agents ~ Felix Tipper ~ at JLA Agency.   He's the one that represents her for commercials.   Anyway, we just went by to say "hi" and to take him some goodies (guacamole, chips and a six-pack of Coke).   Just as a little celebration for her recent booking for the Public Service Announcement.   After that we went to see a movie ~ "The Change-Up"....then dinner at the Pink Taco.   Just took Gracie for a walk.   Shea is at South Club House with all her buds.   Til tomorrow.....

Day 51 in LA.....August 2011

Hello....Shea and Harrison had found out that Demi Lavato was going to be at an AT&T store today and wanted to go and see her.   That's why she did all her school stuff yesterday.  I told her she could go....BUT, it was her responsibility to take the computer into an Apple store and get it fixed.    As Harrison stood in the line holding a place for Shea....she went to three different stores to inquire about the computer.   She got the last appt. at 5:45 pm at one in the Grove.   So, she went back to Harrison and stood in line.   They did get to meet Demi and have their picture each taken with her.   Then Shea took Harrison to an audition...and from there to the Apple Store for the computer.  OF COURSE, Today is the LAST day of the warranty on the computer!   I'm not kidding!   :)    They are sending it off....they said it will be gone 7 - 10 days.  And hopefully it can be repaired and it will all be under the warranty!    Harrison is letting Shea borrow his extra computer until we get hers back!    I taped Shea tonight reading for the role of Chelsea ~ for "Neighborhood Watch."    Shea has now
sent it to Atlanta.   Til tomorrow.....

Day 50.....in LA...August 2011

Houston ~ we have a problem!!      Shea was doing her schoolwork yesterday....and spilt coffee all over the computer!  Ugh!    And it shut down!    Shea took the back off....and drained the coffee out....and put it in the sun to dry it out.   But, it still would not start up!     (We interrupt this blog to say Momma isn't happy!!)   She did go and borrow a computer from a friend that has an extra one ~ so that she could do her studies.   She got an audition  from Atlanta yesterday.   Project: Neighborhood Watch  Role: Chelsea.   She doubled up on her schoolwork ~ (doing Wed. & Thurs.) ~ so that she could go to an event the following day.  Til tomorrow.....

Day 49.....in LA...August 2011

Hi!    Ok....Shea did begin her Senior Year of classes this morning.   I left to go run errands and give Shea "her space!"  ha!    I did get the oil changed in the car ~ which was overdue!   Shea and I went shopping this afternoon in Burbank.   She has been invited to a party Friday night ~ she needed a dress for....and she has also been invited to go to the Taylor Swift Concert on Sunday night ~ and well, she felt she needed something new for that too!   :)     She did pay for both!   So that's good!   NO calls from Jamie....it is sooo slow.....ugh!  Til tomorrow.....

Well.....Shea was supposed to start school today....but, they wrote to say that her classes would not be uploaded until the end of today.    So, Shea and I went to the gym and worked out.....then I went for a walk and then threw in some laundry.   Shea is at her acting class right now.    So....looks like tomorrow will be Shea's starting date for school.   Til tomorrow.....

Hello.....I didn't exactly tell you the "whole story" of our day yesterday....so, I will begin there.    Shea and I stopped at the Albertson's on our way back after shopping at Ikea.    They have a Red Box outside and we thought we would get a movie.   Right next to this were many crates of rescued pups and dogs that needed homes.    Shea wanted to look....so, we did.    After Shea had held many of the pups....she fell in love with one.   I told her that there was NO way we could get a puppy....we are renting an apt....and she has school and auditions....no time to give a little puppy....wouldn't be fair.    As she continued to snuggle this little love....people around us were saying "Oh, looks like that one has found it's home!"    GUILT!   I told the man there that I had to sleep on it....that I couldn't make a decision that quickly.    He said I tell you what I will let you take the puppy home with you tonight....then come back tomorrow at noon and you can tell me what you have decided.    That was one of the poorest decisions I have ever made!    We borrow a crate....and I run in the pet shop to get puppy food and pee pads.    We got her all settled in her crate for the night around midnight.    Then about 2 am.....the little pup yelps began.   Shea had told me this was going to be her dog...and she would take care of it totally (yeah right?!)   So, I told Shea she had to get up with the pup.    Shea came in the bedroom at 6 am....begging me to take the pup ~ so she could get some sleep!    So, hello....I was up with her from then on.   I KNEW we could not keep this puppy!     BUT, it was going to break my heart to take her back to this place!    Shea took her to the Sunday Brunch here today....and made an announcement not only about the pup we had that was available ~ but, all the other ones that needed homes.    The story has a "Happy Ending!"   A family with children adopted her.    :)     And they are right here at Oakwood ~ so we will get to see her!    So....yes, we are pretty tired tonight......but, so very happy that the sweet puppy has a good home!    A Praise!
After that.....I just had cleaning to do....and laundry.....I did go to Target to get a few more items we will need in the new apt. ~ that we couldn't get at Ikea.    We will both be hitting the hay early tonight!
Shea starts her online Senior Year Courses tomorrow!     Til then.....

Day 46.....in LA...August 2011

Hello....I met with Carlos at Oakwood today....and alleluia.....we have a lower rate for an apt. starting in September!    We will be moving to Building Y on September 1st ~ we had to move ~ in order to get the new lower rate.   We are still going to have a furnished one bedroom ~ but, it is a corner unit ~ with a wraparound porch and a little bigger and more windows.   We did get a stripped down furnished to help lower the price.   Which means we will have to have all our own bedding, linens and kitchen items.   So, Shea and I went to Ikea today and bought everything we will need!    Til tomorrow.....

Day 45.....in LA...August 2011

Howdy!    The gentleman that is Shea's agent for Voiceover work is Ferenc Laczko.     He changed the agency he is with ~ he wanted Shea to move over to the new agency with him ~ Independent Artist Agency ~ and so we did.    We went to see him this am and see his new office.   Shea also had a VO audition he wanted her to do.   It is for a Nickelodeon cartoon ~ the "Winx Club" ~ characer is Mitzi.   So, Shea did that and we were out of there.    Shea was very sweet and treated me to brunch in Beverly Hills afterwards...at a very cute french cafe.   It was fun and yummy!    As you know we have been looking for a new apartment ~ due to the high cost of where we are now.   With not much success....Chris phoned them here at Oakwood to see if they would go down in their price.   Praise God!    We have a new reduced price ~ effective September 1st.   It will demand that we move out of this apt. on the 31st of Aug.  ~ only to move into another one that same day!   But, it is worth it ~ to get a better deal!   I am very thankful for this!
Shea just hung out with her buds this afternoon.   I ran to CVS to pick up a few things....then went to Albertson's to get my fresh flowers....(ALWAYS have to have those ~ to make it seem somewhat "homey!"  ha!)   Then went to the Red Box to rent a movie for this evening....there was a homeless man in front of the grocery store with an adorable black lab pup!    He just wanted to run and play....and he wasn't able to do this....the man wasn't too terribly gentle with him either which upset me.   I know I should have gone in the grocery store and bought food for the man....but, I went in the pet shop and bought 2 tennis balls.....a chewbone.....and a pig's ear to chew on for the pup!

Day 44.....in LA...August 2011

Hello.....ok....started out a very slow day....Shea practicing her SAT test materials....me, doing laundry...walking Gracie....then I get a text from our hairdresser Marcie.   She says that Miley is in the shop and will be there for an hour ~ and for Shea to come.   She knows what a "whack-a-do" Shea is over Miley!  ha!    Before I told Shea I made her promise that she would remain calm when I told her what I was going to tell her!  :)    Shea was out the door in less than 60 seconds!    I now realize that I wasn't thinking very clearly and I should have driven Shea to the shop....because she was a crazy fan on the road!   Miley was having lunch with her boyfriend Liam at the cafe next to the shop.   Shea went into the shop and got her hair straightened by Marcie....then Miley came in with Liam....Marcie went over and talked to Miley first ~ then told Shea to come over.....it's really funny to me how star struck she is over this girl!  ha!   They talked and then had their picture taken together.....what can I say other than she's been floating on a cloud ever since!!   Shea says this is the best day in her entire life!     Don't ya love it?!    
Harrison came over to hear the Miley story.....then Sloane came to hear it.....you get the picture....I'm hearing this story WAY too many times!!     We decided to go to a movie....Shea, Harrison and Sloane went to GLEE 3-D.....and I went ~ yes, by myself!  :(   to see "The Help"   Terrific movie....pretty much cried thru the entire thing....I knew the story as I read the book....but, they did a great job following the book for the movie.    Oh, and Shea has a Voiceover Audition tomorrow morning for Nickelodeon's Winx Club ~ character ~ Mitzi.    Til tomorrow.....

Day 43.....in LA...August 2011

Hello.....as I told you about my awful headache last night.....it was not totally gone when I woke up this morning...I could feel the tension in my shoulders and neck....so, I made an appt. for a deep tissue massage.
I went and she did a great job....it's painful as she works out all the knots....but, so worth it afterwards.   Shea ran thru lines with Harrison and went with him to his audition in Culver City.    I just laid low this afternoon.....so my head will get totally better!   NO word from Jamie in TWO days!    Hopefully something tomorrow.....

Day 41.....in LA...August 2011

Hi....we left at 11 am for Shea's audition at Fox Studios ~ for a role on the show "The Finder"   Her appt. was at 11:45....she was there til 12:45 pm.....I got in touch with Jamie letting her know....since Shea's second audition was at 12:30....she got in touch with casting....and didn't hear back from them....so we flew  back to Burbank for the 2nd one....then Jamie called to say that casting was leaving ~ it was 1:30 pm and they would reschedule her audition.   We grabbed some lunch and went back to the apartment.  Shea got ready for her 3rd audition for an AT&T commercial at 3:55 in Santa Monica.   She was there until 5 pm.
We decided we didn't want to get in the 5o'clock traffic ~ traffic is bad 24/7 here in LA ~ but, is a complete parking lot at 5pm.   So we found a theatre and went to see the movie ~ "Crazy, Stupid Love".    It was very good!   Back at the apt. now......took poor Miss Gracie out....so Nite!    Til tomorrow.....

Day 40.....in LA...August 2011

Hi.....Chris had a very early flight home today out of the Bob Hope airport here in Burbank.    Shea drove him to the airport ~ they left the apt. around 5:15 am....Shea was in shock ~ wasn't even contious totally!  ha!    Always hate when Chris has to leave.....!   :(    Shea went to the brunch at North this morning.   I just did some cleaning ~ laundry, vacuuming and dusting.   Shea worked on her lines for the two auditions she has tomorrow.   I got her headshots ready.   Also wrote the Advantage online school with the classes Shea needs to take for her Senior year.   She will probably be starting school this week.   Just a relaxing evening tonight....reading my book ~ "Fly Away Home."  Til tomorrow.....

Day 39.....in LA...August 2011

Hello.....Poor Chris has spent the past two days looking and calling about a new apartment.    We went to see another one today and we didn't like it.    After that we went to the Ikea store ~ wow ~ first visit for all of us ~ super overwhelming!!    But, great deals!    We went to look at furniture we may need ~ if we get apartment unfurnished.   Now we are back at Oakwood....Chris is putting a flank steak on the grill now....Shea has two auditions on Monday.   One is for an episode on the "Finder" ~ a show on Fox.   The second one is for a webisode ~ Brandt Point ~ role : Kim Sullivan.    She has the breakdowns and the sides and will be reading and learning her lines.   She's very excited!   Til tomorrow.....

Day 38.....in LA...August 2011

Hello.....sorry my bloggers.....this is over 12 hrs late!   :(      So this is for Friday(Aug. 12th) ~ We took Shea to her 1 pm audition for the GE Capital commercial.....Shea said the casting director was a hippie...long hair in a ponytail!  ha!   Then the three of us went apartment shopping.....ugghoo!    We drove around and went into lots of apts. for about 4 hours....BIG fun!    With no success!  :(    Came back to our place....Shea went to south and north clubhouses to see all her friends....then spent the night with Sloane.    Chris and I went to this darling little place in Studio City ~ and sat outside....had a romantic and yummy dinner!    More apt. looking tomorrow........

Day 37.....in LA...August 2011

Hello.....Shea again worked on her SAT practice tests while I ran and got a few groceries.   Chris arrived here around 4 pm!    Great to have him here again!!     We went out to dinner ~ Chancey's ~ for some seafood.   Shea has an audition tomorrow for a commercial for GE Capital.    FINALLY!    :)   We'll let you know how that goes.....til tomorrow.....

Hi!   Took Gracie in for her beauty parlor appt this morning....Shea worked on her SAT practice tests.   I needed to get the car filled up....pick up the dry-cleaning....then come back and throw in some laundry.   Gracie was ready in a few hours....got her....she looks adorable!    OK ~ NO auditions.....Shea is "biting at the bit!".....So am I!    Ugh!   I'm almost thru with the book I just started ~ "Room" ~ it's pretty heavy reading...but, rivoting!   Chris will be here tomorrow afternoon ~ Yippee!    Til tomorrow.....

Day 35.....in LA...August 2011

Hello...not much on the agenda for today....so, Shea did her SAT practice work....I did some laundry....then went and got the car cleaned.   I saw a Pet Grooming place and stopped in to see if I could get Gracie in....she is all set for tomorrow morning at 9:30 for her beauty parlor appt.!   :)    Then I stopped at Ralph's to get a few groceries.    I started my new book today ~ "The Room" and I'm reading it on a Kindle....big step for me!  ha!    Kept fighting that ~ wanted to keep reading my books the old-fashioned way ~ with a real book!    No word from Jamie on any auditions?   Chris will be here in 2 days!   Til tomorrow.....

Day 34.....in LA...August 2011

Howdy!    Well, a very S L O W day here today!   I talked to my mom, sister and Jamie (manager).   Shea had her acting class tonight with Patrick.   I finished reading the book ~ "The Help" ~ excellent!   Can't wait to see the movie now!   :)   Shea is really hoping she has lots of auditions this week ~ she's biting at the bit!  Til tomorrow.....

A very nice and relaxing Sunday!    I sat by the pool today and read my book.   Shea went for a run and then went to the office and printed out some new resumes we need for her headshots.   She is with friends now at Henry's Hat for dinner.    Chris has to travel to San Francisco and San Diego this week ~ and will be driving up to see us this Thursday!    He has to leave early on Sunday....so, a short visit....but, I will take it!   :)      Excited to see him!    Hoping it's a full week of activity for Shea this week!   You know I will keep you posted.....til tomorrow.....

Day 32.....in LA.....August 2011

Hello.....I had some errands to run this morning.....bank, dry-cleaning, CVS...then it was home to do laundry.   Today was Shea "laundry training" day!   Oh she was THRILLED!    N O T !!    She did a great job....getting it all washed...dried....and folded!    Then little Miss Gracie got a bath.     We went to City Wok for dinner.    And we are now going to watch movie "Roommate."    I think I will probably have my eyes closed for half of this one!  :)   Til tomorrow.....

Day 31.....in LA...August 2011

Hello!    A pretty quiet day for us.    Shea organized her drawers and closet in the bedroom.   I went to Blockbuster to get a few movies....and then got some groceries at Ralph's.   Shea has now gone with Sloane to City Walk to meet up with Blake....and go to the concert at 8 pm there.   It's that same group of kids from Oakwood that has a band that is performing there tonight.   So, it's Gracie and me on this Friday evening....here at the apartment.....til tomorrow.....

Day 30.....in LA...August 2011

How do you spell relaxing day......THURSDAY!   :)      We got to sleep in....which was heaven!    Shea went with Harrison and Sloane to Paty's for lunch....then they went to the airport to pick up Harrison's dad.
Shea has been helping Harrison all afternoon getting things out of storage and moving them to his new apt.
She is going with her friends to Karaoke Night here tonight.   And what did I do all day.....other than walk Gracie....and clean the apt. a bit....N O T H I N G!    :)     Fantastic!   Til tomorrow.....

Day 29.....in LA...August 2011

Hello.....well, today started out much better!   We got to sleep til 6 am.....AND Gracie didn't run away...AND we didn't get locked out of the apartment!   Ha!    We got to the set before 8 am!   They served breakfast to everyone.   Shea went to wardrobe and they got her ready for the shoot.    It is absolutely amazing to me A L L of the work ~ all the people ~ and all the time it takes to shoot these scenes!   They had the car they were filming on a trailer ~ pulled by a huge rig.    They had cameras in the front two car windows and the front dash ~ the director sat on the trailer ~ looking at a screen of the different shots....and gave Shea and the boys direction.    It was a long day.   They wrapped up at 7:15pm.
Shea had a wonderful experience and enjoyed meeting everyone that worked on this production.  I took lots of pictures ~ Shea has posted them on facebook if you would like to see them.   This PSA should start being shown mid-October.  Time for a shower....and sweet dreams...til tomorrow.....

Day 27 and 28 in LA.....July 2011

Hello all!    So sorry I missed writing to you yesterday!    Shea went to her wardrobe appt. for the PSA at 11 am.   We were there til around 12:30 pm.   Then we drove to the Ivy ~ a lovely restaurant in Beverly Hills that Shirley had made a reservation for.    It is both a beautiful place and the food is excellent!   We were there almost 3 hours.....just enjoying every minute.   Jennifer Love Hewitt sat at the table with a friend right behind us.   When she got up to leave I asked her if she would please take a photo with my daughter.
You have probably already seen the pic if you ever go on facebook ~ Shea put it up there immediately! ha!
We then took the girls to Melrose Avenue for some shopping!     Shirley and I then came back to Oakwood to rest at the apt. for awhile ~ while Shea and Lanier went to her acting class.   They came and picked us up afterwards ~ and we went to "Henry's Hat" to grab a quick bite.   Then took Shirley and Lanier back to their hotel.   Shea and I were showered and in bed by 11:30 pm ~ only to be awoken at 5 am by the alarm clock for Shea's call time of 6:45 am in Northridge for the start of the shoot!

So our Tuesday started out WAY too early......we both got ready and we were walking out the door before 6 am ~ to get to the PSA shoot on time....Gracie darted out the door and was G O N E......Shea took off after her......so did I....and then "click".....Yep ~ locked out of the apartment!   :(    No, I'm NOT kidding!     I ran to the south club house....and of course NO ONE was there ~ 6 am!!!   So ran to the front gate ~ where there is always someone......told him what had happened....he radioed someone to meet Shea at the club house ~ and he would issue us new keys for the apartment.   We got 'em ~ and we left.    We thought the ride was going to be 45 minutes....but, it was only about 30 ~ so we were only a few minutes late!   Praise God!    It was NOT the way to start out our day.....but, the good news is we made it!   :)     Shea and two of the guys that will be doing the car scene with her for the ad just acted as background actors for the two scenes today.    The first was done on a college campus....the second one was at a mall.    They let her go around 12:30....we grabbed some lunch and came back to hang at apt. for a bit.....Shea had two auditions this afternoon.   The first was for a commercial for "Fifa 2011" ~ a video game.   And the second was for a guest role on Nickelodeon's "Bucket and Skinner's Epic Adventures."   After we were done with those....we went to the NBC studios and picked up Shirley and Lanier....they went to a Jay Leno taping....and went to Cia Cristina's for an early dinner.    We are back at apt. now and as you can imagine we are WHIPPED!    Hitting the hay early tonight.....her calltime for tomorrow is 8 am.     It will probably be a full day of shooting!   Til tomorrow.....

Day 26.....in LA...July 2011

Hello.....last day of July today.   Did some laundry....got my nails done....and picked up a few groceries.
We picked up Shirley and Lanier around 6:30pm at their hotel in Beverly Hills ~ the L'ermitage.   We went to Saddle Ranch for dinner on Sunset Blvd.   Quite an entertaining place....with people riding the bull....two guitar players going table to table and playing requests.....and after dinner....they bring you a HUGE cone of cotton candy!  :)   We then drove down Santa Barbara Blvd. to see the sites.....and Hollywood Blvd.   Took them past Paty's ~ we were too full from dinner to stop and get anything to eat!  ha!   Then drove to the Cyrus residence.   It is gated of course ~ but, they have a button you can push and it rings the house.   Tish Cyrus answered.   Shea told her she was a big Miley fan and could she and Billy Ray come out.   Shea knew Miley is in Minnesota right now.   Tish said that Billy Ray was out of town.  Bummer!    Shirley and Lanier are whipped.....so we drove them back to their hotel....and Shea just ran up to the club house to see Mazy ~ who just arrived back at Oakwood!    Tomorrow is wardrobe day for the PSA at 11 am.   Til tomorrow.....

Day 25.....in LA...July 2011

Just a relaxing morning.....Chris and I went and sat by the pool for a few hours....we left for the airport around 2pm.....ugly traffic....ugh....took us an hour and a half.....I absolutely H A T E good-byes.....so, of course was not happy having to say bye!   :(  He will be back here Aug. 11th for a few days....so, it won't be too bad!   Only took me 45 minutes for the drive back.    I'm just cleaning the apartment now.   Shea just left with friends to go to City Walk for the evening.
A good friend of mine ~ Shirley Daniel ~ from Peachtree City is arriving in LA tonight ~ along with her sweet daughter Lanier!   Another friend is picking her up at the airport and taking her to Laguna Beach for the night.   She is coming back to LA tomorrow afternoon and staying in a hotel in Beverly Hills.   Shea and I are really looking forward to seeing them!    We are going to take them to Paty's tomorrow night ~ then go by the Cyrus Compound ~ and see if we can see Miley or Billy Ray!  :)    I'm going to try to get them on the set on Tuesday or Wednesday ~ for the filming of the PSA ~ Shea is in.     Exciting!   Til tomorrow.....

Day 24.....in LA...July 2011

Hello......the three of us drove down to Malibu Beach today.....went to Paradise Cove....absolutely gorgeous spot!    Liz(Jamie's assistant) called Shea to tell her that they(people from Shameless Show) had phoned them and told them that Shea was not right for this role of Holly she just auditioned for ~ but, they really liked her and would be calling to use her for other roles!   So Shea is psyched!    We just got back to the apt. and the gal from wardrobe called to give us the time we need to be at that appt. on Monday ~ 11 am.    They are emailing us the address tomorrow.   Chris has to leave tomorrow afternoon.....sad day!  :(
But, it has been wonderful having him here!   Til tomorrow.....

Day 23.....in LA...July 2011

Hello.....Happy Day!!!     Shea had her audition for the feature film ~ "Arcadia" ~ for the role of Caroline at 11 am.    The girl that played the piano in High School Musical ~ Kelsey ~ was there and also was auditioning for this role.      Then she had her callback for the show "Shameless" ~ for the role of Holly ~ for 2 episodes at 2:45pm.    Lots of people in the room for the callback.    And GREAT NEWS ~ Shea booked the PSA ~ Public Service Announcement!!!     Wardrobe is on Monday ~ August 1st ~ and they are filming on 2nd and 3rd.    This PSA is a message about "NO Texting While Driving!"    Shea is sooo excited!   Til tomorrow.....

Day 22.....in LA...July 2011

Hi!    Shea had the callback this afternoon at 1:30 for the Public Service Announcement.     Chris and I took her....and then just walked around....and then sat....and sat.....they had her doing it again and again with different kids.....she had a blast!     We left there at 3 pm.    Her audition was at 2:45 ~ so we called Jamie and she called them at Warner Bros. ~ and changed it to 3:15 pm.   This was the first time we have been on the Warner Bros. lot for an audition.   This was for role of Holly in "Shameless."   She auditioned for one of the toughest casting directors today.   She read her lines ~ then told her to do it a different way....she did it....and he said you take direction very well....excellent job....and that he definitely will have her come for a callback on this role!   Shea is thrilled!   We are going to get an early dinner now.  Then come back and tape her audition for Atlanta for "One Tree Hill" ~ role: Caitlin and send it.    She also has an audition tomorrow am ~ for a feature film ~ "Arcadia" ~ for the role of Caroline.    Til tomorrow.....

Hello.....Chris drove us to Laguna Beach today.....really a beautiful spot!     Shea got all the particulars today for the callback for the Public Service Announcement ~ about "No Texting and Driving."   It's tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 pm.    She also just got an audition for tomorrow ~ for the show "Shameless" ~ Role: Holly ~ that is at 2:45 pm.    And another one from Atlanta we need to tape and send on Thursday ~ for "One Tree Hill" ~ Role: Caitlin.   Shea is psyched!    She is meeting with her acting teacher - Patrick ~ tomorrow morning for some coaching with all of these!  :)     Til tomorrow.....

Happy Day!     Picked up Chris at LAX this morning!    We came back to apt. and got Shea and went to Paty's for lunch.     Then Chris and I went to the pool and sat there for a few hours.   Beautiful day today!
Shea had her acting class tonight.....Harrison took her.....Chris and I went to CVS and bought a DVD player ~ then stopped in at Cia~Christina's for a delicious pizza!  That's amore!  :)    And guess what?   Shea has a callback for the PSA ~ NO Texting and Driving ~ on Wednesday!     Til tomorrow.....

Hello.........gorgeous day today!    Gracie got a bath.     Shea took three friends to the OC Fair today.   We were given these free tickets when we went to the Ellen show.   Selena Gomez is putting on a concert there tonight....they are at that now.    Chris' flight arrives at 10:15 tomorrow am!    Yahoo!  Sooo excited!   Til tomorrow.....

Hello.....lazy day here.....Shea and I were just kind of veggies....we watched a Lifetime movie.....went to CVS to get two prescriptions filled....and got all the laundry done!   Shea is at City Walk tonight with friends.  Two of their friends that live here at Oakwood have a band ~ and they are performing tonight at City Walk.   Only ONE more day ~ and Chris will be H E R E!   :)    Til tomorrow.....

Hello and Happy Weekend!    Got up this am to find that our coffee maker had gone "ker plunk!"  :(    They did come and replace it.....although not til after noon.....so, we were having a first "cup of joe" around 12:30 pm.    Shea got ready for the role of Shauna for the movie Hairbrained....she is supposed to be a teenage girl living in the 70's w/ the Farrah Fawcett hair!   :)   I taped that and we sent it to Jamie.   Then we found out she had a callback for the audition she did yesterday for role of CJ ~ so she went and downloaded the new sides.....practiced those and I taped that and sent it to Atlanta.   This is for the movie ~  "Newborne County" being filmed in Georgia this fall.     And I'm finishing up the day with laundry ~ good times!    Til tomorrow.....

Hello....well, it was my turn for the beauty parlor today.....I was in dire need of a color and cut!    Shea did her SAT practice.    After my hair appt. I ran a few errands.     Shea went to the beach with Harrison and his mother for the afternoon.    I'm soooo excited ~ Chris will be here Monday morning ~ Yahoo!    For the entire week!  :)    We are taping an audition tomorrow morning for Jamie ~ for a movie being filmed in NYC this fall.   Til tomorrow.....

Hello!   Shea had a hair appt. today to get her hightlights done.   Gracie and I went on another long walk.
Shea had an audition at 4pm for the role of Ashley in Fox's "Jane By Design."   She recognized the casting directors....and they realized they had seen her for another audition for a show on ABC Family last time we were here.   She got a last minute audition for a PSA ~ Public Service Announcement ~ at 4:30 pm.   She had a great time at that one.   She and three teenage boys were in a makeshift car ~ the director told them each what they were to be doing and saying....then at the last second they were to scream and brace themselves for a crash....because they had been reading a text.    We got back to the apt. and Shea got prepared for us to tape the audition we need to send to Atlanta.    This is for the indie film ~ "Newborne County" ~ for the role of CJ.   So, it's time for Mom ~ to be Director, Filmographer, Lighting, Makeup...you name it!   ha!   Til tomorrow.....

Hello.....Shea went to the callback this afternoon.....casting was there along with four producers....they had her do things by herself today ~ instead of in a group for the audition last week.     She also got two more auditions today....one is for tomorrow at 4 pm in LA for the role of Ashley ~ in "Jane By Design" a show on FOX....and the other one is from Atlanta for a movie being done there.   We will tape that and send it on Thursday.   The name of that film is "Newborne County" ~ Role: is CJ.   One of Shea's friends here ~ Blake ~ his mother and grandmother have invited me to Taco Night!   Should be fun!   Til tomorrow.....

Hello and Happy Monday!    Hope you are having a super day!   Pretty quiet here for most of the day.   I did laundry....Shea worked on SAT practice tests....and went for a run.     She had her acting class tonight with Patrick.    As soon as she left for class.....Jamie texted to say Shea has a "Callback" for the NFL commercial she auditioned for this past Friday.   It's at 2:05 pm tomorrow in Santa Monica.    Shea is psyched!    Also found out that she has an audition we need to put on tape for a movie ~ "Hairbrained"  Role: Shauna Holder....filming in NYC this fall.  Til tomorrow.....

Day 12 in LA.....July 2011

It has been a beautiful Sunday here in LA.    Gracie and I again went on a long walk today.    Shea went on a run.   Then we cleaned up and went to an evening prayer service at St. Thomas Episcopal Church at 4:30 pm.    We really enjoyed it.   There is another church we want to visit next week ~ All Saints.    After the service Shea and I went grocery shopping at Ralph's.    We came home and had dinner....and of course Shea is already G O N E to the club house to socialize!  ha!   Til tomorrow.....

Day 11 in LA.....July 2011

Hello.....Shea went with friends today to Griffith Park.....to just throw a ball around and hang out.    Gracie and I went on a long walk.     Then I went and sat by the pool and read my book.   The kids got bored at the park....so they came back here ~ then went to Universal City to eat dinner.   Now they are back at Oakwood just hanging out at the club house.    Making a quick run to CVS and then it's probably a tv movie and call it a day....til tomorrow.....

Hello.....it's weekend time!    Shea had an audition this afternoon in Santa Monica for an NFL commercial.
The audition is for a High School girl....they asked her to throw and catch a football.....and then she did some improv with two guys.   She had a blast!    Of course, her highlight was seeing the hunks they were auditioning for the football players!  ha!    We went to see the movie "Horrible Bosses"  (too funny!) afterwards....and then grabbed dinner.   Jamie (manager) called with feedback on a few auditions Shea has done.   She talked to the casting directors from ABC for "Body of Proof" and also casting at Nickelodeon and they both said Shea did "great reads" ~ but, she was not the look they are looking for.   Til tomorrow.....

Happy Thursday!     Not much at all going on today.....it was back to doing laundry again for me.   That and giving Gracie a bath!  :)      Shea worked on some SAT Practice Tests this am.   Then she and some friends went to Melrose Ave. for lunch and shopping!    Don't like these quiet days.....like the busy ones!

Howdy!   Ok....I am wiped out!   We drove all over today looking at apartments.   Gets sooo confusing....afterwards Shea and I made a list of the all the pros and cons of each apt. complex.   I think I might be more confused now??!    ha!     I know the Lord will guide us in making the right decision!   Shea is going to an acting class here at Oakwood tonight!   Til tomorrow.....

Hello....Shea went to work out at the gym this morning while I went thru a booklet of available apts in the area.   Made lots of phone calls....asking if they do short term leasing.....pets allowed?.....furnished or not?  I have it narrowed down to three right now......the rent is considerably lower.....I now just need to go and see them.    Shea ended up with two auditions today.   The first was in Santa Monica for a commercial for Tampax.  She was thrilled!  ha!   And the second one was in LA at 5:30pm for a guest role on the ABC TV show ~ "Body of Proof."   She felt great about both of them!    We were near Hollywood Blvd. ~ so thought we would grab some dinner.   We went to a place that is "supposed" to be wonderful....WRONG ~ not too wonderful ~ and way too expensive!   Ugh!   Oh well, live and learn!   :)    Shea has gone up to the Club House as a few more friends have just arrived back here after going home for a few months.  Til tomorrow.....

Day 6 in LA.....July 2011

Hello.....well I truly felt like I was back at Oakwood today as I hit the laundromat here with our laundry!  :)    I went on a long walk.....Shea went to the gym to work out.    I went to get some groceries while Shea got ready for the audition.     It's so funny to see Shea after an audition....she's just sooo pumped!    She said she felt great about it!    Harrison picked Shea up to take her to their acting class tonight at 6pm.   Then they are going to grab a bite afterwards.   Til tomorrow.....

Day 5 in LA.....July 2011

What a day today!   As you know Prince William and Princess Katherine were in LA for three days.   I knew they were going down to Skid Row in downtown LA today ~ so, I drove down and around and around....til I found the police tape!  ha!    Parked the car....and made my way to the waiting crowd!   I was there about an hour before they arrived.  It really was exciting!   The car they were in slowed down and I was able to see William ~ he smiled and waved to all the crowd!   You sure see Diana ~ when you look at him!    I did get a picture of him ~ but, there is a shadow....so, it's tough to see him!   :(     I sure will never forget the day I got to see the future King of England!    After that I drove back down to Costa Mesa to pick Shea up after her weekend fun with Jessica Osbun.    Came back to the apartment and Shea got ready for me to tape her audition we need to send to Atlanta.   We just finished that up and it is already sent!  :)  This audition is for the role of Bobbi ~ in a film titled ~ "Will to Succeed."    Tomorrow Shea has the audition for the new Nickelodeon show ~ "Bucket and Skinner's Epic Adventures."  Think I'll go make myself a "spot of tea!"   Til tomorrow.....

Day 4 in LA....July 2011

Hello!    I decided I would start to look for a new apartment today.....they have gone up in prices here at Oakwood....so, am going to try to find something less expensive.    I went to three different places today to get information.    I tried to go to see the "Horrible Bosses"movie at 5 pm ~ but, it was sold out!    So, it's just me and Gracie hanging out in the apt tonight.   I will go pick up Shea tomorrow.    We have to tape an audition tomorrow for a film from Atlanta ~ "Will to Succeed" for the role of Bobbi.   Shea also has an audition on Monday for a new Nickelodeon show ~ "Bucket and Skinner's Epic Adventures" for the role of Katherine.  It's a guest starring role.  She's excited about it.   Til tomorrow.....

Day 3 evening in LA.....July 2011

Good evening!    I drove Shea down to Casa Mesa this morning to meet Jessica Ozbun.    Jessica is in San Diego with her family this week.  They invited Shea down to spend the weekend with them.   They did invite me also ~ but, can't leave little Gracie.   So, we each drove an hour and met half way.   I will go back on Sunday to pick her up.    Will and Kate arrrived here at LAX this afternoon at 4 pm.   I would sooo love to get a glimpse of them.   They are of course under such high security and are only going from one event to the next ~ not walking around ~ where you might be able to see them.   The news here is keeping it on the tv with where all their events are.    I am planning on going to look for a new apartment tomorrow ~ and might try to go to where one of the events Will and Kate are going to see if I can see them?   I'll keep you posted.....til tomorrow!

Day 3 in LA....July 2011

Morning everyone!     Ok.....sorry bout not getting a posting on the blog yesterday!   I promise I will do better!      Shea got up yesterday morning and got ready to do the 2 auditions we needed to tape and send to Atlanta.    We got both of those done and sent.   Jamie called around 10:30 am to say Shea had an audition in Santa Monica before noon.    So hopped in the car to go to that one.    It was for a commercial for Time Warner.     We had lunch at a cute cafe there in Santa M.    The car was really dirty ~ so we found a place and got the car washed.    We needed supplies for the apt. so we made a trip to Target.   Shea decided she didn't want to go back to the apt. and then have to go out in 5pm traffic for the 6 0'clock audition.   So, after Target....we went to a coffee shop and sat there for about an hour.   We still had an hour and a half before her audition.   But, we drove to where it was and sat.   I don't know WHY we did this!!   ha!   It did actually end up being fun though.....cuz we were parked right at the door where all the girls went in for their audition....so, it was fun to see all the girls going in.    This was the first aud. Shea has gone to for print work.   It for Bonne Bell ~ Lip Smackers.    She had fun!    Then we stopped and bought groceries.
Came back to apt. and FINALLY took poor little Gracie out!   And I was exhausted!!   Showered and went to bed!     I will write again tonight!  

Day 1 in LA.....July 2011

Hello all!     We had a nice flight out this morning to LA.   Had our shuttle waiting for us to drive us to Oakwood Apts.    We are in a new area here at the complex this time.   Our address is 3608 Barham Blvd. Apt. U225  Los Angeles, CA  90068.    Shea received three auditions today.   Two from Atlanta ~ of course, ha!   Day we leave she gets two!    She downloaded the breakdowns and sides for the three different projects.   We will tape the two for Atlanta tomorrow and send them.    The third audition is for a commercial tom at 6 pm.   We unloaded everything out of Shea's car....and alleluia ~ car started right up!!!
We went to Paty's to grab some dinner.   I'm still unpacking.....and it's midnight (east coast time) and I'm beat!    Thinking I am going to hit the shower and then hit the hay!    Til tomorrow.....

Back to LA.....July 6th 2011......

Hello bloggers.....had a wonderful time being home in Peachtree City!!    Shea and I are flying out early tomorrow morning for LA.    The shuttle will pick us up when we arrive there around noon and take us to Oakwood Apts.    Shea's car has been parked there while we were gone ~ with all our goods!   :)    It is "episodic season" now in Hollywood ~ which is when all the scheduled television shows need guest stars for some of their episodes.    Jamie(manager) says it is really getting busy and wants Shea there.    Shea is excited and ready!!     Oakwood has really gone up in their prices unfortunately.    So, we will go there for now....but, will be looking for a more inexpensive place to rent.   Know tomorrow will be a busy day...but, I will try to send out a note to let you know how our first day went.....Til tomorrow.....

Hello "Shea Bloggers!"   Here's the latest news on Shea.....she now has agents working for her in Atlanta~
The agency is called People Store.   I was on the computer all morning today setting up all the sites the various casting directors use here in the Atlanta area.   Shea had an audition today for the role of Molly ~ in a new movie ~ "What to Expect When You're Expecting." ~ starring Cameron Diaz.   They taped her audition and sent it over to the the casting director ~ Shay Griffin.    They told her she did a great job!   She has another audition tomorrow for the movie ~ "Jayne Mansfield's Car" ~ for the role of April ~ the granddaughter of Billy Bob Thorton ~ who stars in the film.   She will be doing this audition live in front of Shay Griffin ~ casting director.    I will update again soon......

Peachtree City, Georgia ~ May 14th

Hello bloggers!   Update on Shea from this past week.   We had two appointments with two different agents here in Atlanta this past week.   The People's Store Agency and Joy Pervis Talent ~ both the top two agencies in the southeast area.    Shea felt good about both appts.   Jamie has put a call into them both and we will discuss on Monday ~ and decide which one is the best fit for Shea.   Shea is sooo ready to get signed here and get working!!    We sent in an audition on tape on Thursday for a guest role on "Pretty Little Liars."    And we just received three more auditions from LA ~ that we will need to film and send on tape this coming week.   One is for a movie of the week ~ "Girl Fight."    And the other two are for two different roles on a new pilot ~ "Clue" ~ for the roles of "Liz" and "Whitney."   That's all for now.....

Peachtree City, Georgia ~ May 7th.....

Hello bloggers!   Just to keep you in the "Shea Loop!"   :)    We filmed an audition on tape and sent it to Jamie for a feature film this past Sunday.   She then had a voiceover audition for a Nickelodeon cartoon ~ that we sent to LA on Monday.   Shea had done an audition the day before we left LA to head home for a feature film.   She received a callback.   Jamie got in touch with the casting director and told him that we would not be flying out for the callback.   But, if after his 3 days of seeing callbacks he still was interested in Shea to let them know.   They called after the 3 days saying they still liked Shea.   Jamie was in discussion with them.   The director of the project said he would "not" book from a tape.   That Shea would have to fly out for a "chemistry read" with the other chosen cast.   Then fly home ~ and fly out again the following week for the filming to begin.   It was a tough decision....but, after prayer and discussion we all felt that it was too much.   So we passed on this project.   Jamie told Shea that it was coming full circle ~ that all her hard work is paying off!    Other news.....we have two appointment with agents here in Atlanta this coming week.   The first, on Wed. the 11th at 3:30 pm with Brenda Pauley at People's Store Agency.   And secondly, on Thursday the 12th at 3:30 pm with Joy Pervis.    Shea is really excited to get connected here in Atlanta ~ and start auditioning and booking here!    Will write again soon.....
